In the trenches P-burg was outsized, but acquitted themselves well. A big improvement over the two previous weeks. The defensive submarine attack at various times through the night helped keep the Tiger front off balance and slowed them reaching linebackers. The Tiger running backs were outstanding, but constantly shot themselves in the foot with trash talk and taunting. Also Paintsville needs a better method of getting plays called. A lot of delay of game penalties and lots of others that weren’t called. I’ll take a win anyway I can get it. Kinda disappointed that the Tiger fans in attendance didn’t thank the Blackcats for their state championship from a few years back.I forget, how many of those transfers played jv or varsity for P-Burg?
I forget, how many of those transfers played 6 years of tackle football in the Prestonsburg feeder programs?
Puff your chest out for that title, you earned it.
Take a knee though. This is gonna hurt a little.
That championship winning coach is NEVER coming back to Paintsville. You have a coaching staff that is clearly in over their heads. Congrats again on that title though. Lord knows I wish PBurg had it.

So Pburg gets some revenge for Taintsville stealing their kids and winning a ring? Happy to see it. How you been blue bird ?? Hehe

Oh, they didn’t steal them. They fled after the 2014 debacle. Happy for them. Sad for the Burg.

Now if several of those kids would have moved in as seniors to be, okay I would understand.

Big program building win for Hager and the Blackcats. I didn't get to attend the game, but I heard the atmosphere was like it was during the glory days. I went back and watched the live stream and the Blackcats were resilient throughout the contest. Paintsville shot their selves in the foot by turning the ball over twice and having multiple unsportsmanlike penalties. To me that cost them the game, and the Blackcats took advantage of their miscues. I have been impressed with Hager, and the way he has conducted himself as a young coach. He looks to be poised and he never seems to panic and his kids are taking on that mentality.
Prestonsburg will roll over Lewis County this week, and it would be a good time to work on the passing game. If their is one glaring weakness it has been Prestonsburg's inability to throw the ball. I think they've got the personal to do so, but pass blocking has been an issue. Hopefully, they can work on some things and get more confidence in this area. They haven't needed to pass so far, but their are future opponents in which they will have to keep the defenses honest.
I just have one question, who was the Prestonsburg coach who received two unsportsmanlike penalties to end the half? It appeared he was being held back from multiple coaches. Was this directed at a player or an official. Regardless, it was a terrible look. Hail Blackcats!
