If Anthony is out it may be a blessing in disguise for Pikeville. This does not mean they are better off without him on the field. Because they aren’t. But it forces their hand at being more diverse offensively. More than anything it’s a chance for someone else to step up and be a leader. From the outside looking in Pikeville lives and dies on his success. I haven’t seen the stat line from the Jc game, but going all the way back to last year, #35 is responsible for over 1/3 of the rushing attempts for the Panthers. And that includes having twice as many as the next guy in line. For a lot of 1A teams, that’s the case. But Pikeville is not most 1A ball clubs. They have talent, speed, strength, and size across the board. Why the ball isn’t distributed a little more equally is beyond me. Someone needs to step up and be THE GUY, for Pikeville this week. If that happens and someone shows they to can put the team on their back, then Pikeville can win this game and I would still consider them the heavy favorite to win 1A. If they don’t, then they will continue to live on Anthony’s success and his health.

I think teams will continue to put a lot of players in the box and make Pikeville beat them passing which they seem to have the weapons to do. Why they haven’t done more of it when the box is crowded, not sure. Seems like it would help the run game. That’s what makes them good is all their talent but they are definitely out of sync these first two games and their schedule is unforgiving.

Both of these.

Anyone know what actually happened to anthony? I was watching the game and missed the play he got injured on. The rumor im hearing is he pulled his hamstring. Anyone know id its true or not?

With Anthony being out and the game being played at LCA I’m gonna have to change my prediction and go with LCA to win. Sorry Pikeville….one more week before you get a win.

It looked like an ankle from what I saw but not really sure. Just saw him hopping off on one leg. Hope he's okay.

I would be the happiest bat sh!t crazy b@st#d alive if  Corbin abuses the Catholic preppies from Lex, , Boyle turns St Eddie into Sister Christian and Pikeville Skull Fux the Academy sissies.  Now, truth be told, the chances of all of that happening is about as likely as me being raptured at halftime of Friday's game.
One of the weirdest posts in my 20 years here, lol.  Needs Express-laned straight to the Classic BGR section.

Pikeville hasn't found much success at LCA and if Anthony is out, that obviously decreases their chances of winning and without a Boykins type playmaker also, Pikeville finds themselves a little limited offensively. I'll be interested to see how the Panthers play without Anthony if he is indeed out this week.

LCA wins, 28-14.

Don’t matter who is out for pikeville here. LCA is just the better team. Pikeville will be around at seasons end, but they aren’t what they were.
#42
The demise of Pikeville is greatly exaggerated. Watching both teams, Panthers have better talent than LCA this year and even Johnson Central who just throttled them. I like LCAs team and how they’ve played this year so far. Lines on both sides of the ball are solid but give me Pikeville’s skill guys, QB, RBs. That doesn’t mean you win the game. I picked LCA to win because of how Pikeville has played so far. I have no doubt Pikeville will come along as the season moves along but if anyone on their schedule is emboldened by how they’ve played so far, they should hope it doesn’t come together on the week they play them.

Doesn’t matter what happens this week. The Pikeville Super Bowl is next week and they will be at peak performance. With everybody back plus a few!

The Panthers are in a marathon not in sprint!! Chris McNamee is one of the elite coaches in Kentucky because of the way he developed his teams throughout the season!! Pikeville continues to get better every single week in ways that most others cannot. I don't know if Pikeville will beat LCA. I do know the Panthers will be better tonight than the were last Friday!! I do know Pikeville will show up prepared & ready to play. And I know a Chris McNamee coach team is always going to fight their guts out till the horn blows!!

Pikeville will be without 3 starters in this one.

You might get your wish with Corbin smacking Lex Cath, but I doubt you’ll get Pikeville and Boyle Co winning their game.

It’s 17 to 12 LCA aand Pikeville had the ball 1st and goal from the 2 and in my opinion terrible play calling cost them a touchdown and the weather is great and this is at the half score I am watching on prep spin

I feel like Pikeville has made good adjustments this past week. Hardly any laundry against Pikeville compared with the 1st 2 games. Duty and company are more in sync with the passing game.
#58
25 to 12 now LCA

25 to 19 now LCA

Pikeville scored on a pass that went for about 60 yards

33 to 19 now LCA Pikeville’s defense couldn’t stop a bloody nose
#59
LCA has a scoop and score of 65 yards to now lead Pikeville 40-19.

Ouch
