I know exactly what it's like to see your babies giving heart and soul, especially in their senior year. Oftentimes, a kid can give his best effort but the game is lost because of someone missing their assignment or a stupid call etc etc. So NO explanations are needed!!

I coached basketball for over 30 years and I used to tell my girls or boys that we win as a team and we lose as a team. But I ALWAYS knew who gave me that special effort!

That’s how it is suppose to be, not always the case though. I think that’s why kids eventually just give up and go through the motions.

Sadly I think you are correct. And that kind of thing can stay in a kid's mind for a long time. Coming from an adult, especially one in authority, it should be a crime!!
