Morgan County 75 Lawrence County 74

Elliott losing to Wolfe was not bad it was terible, Their head coach (it might not have helped but one wants to hope) wasnt their leaving the reigns to Coach Spencer (dont think he is quite ready for a head coaching postion) which shouldnt have made much difference but it did. In order to see a rematch both teams have to win the first game. And Elliott game with West will be difficult to win beating a team 5 times. The rematch with East and Morgan may be even more difficult for the Cougars in a hostile place. Good luck to you and the Cougers hope both teams are fortunate enough to see who wins the finals.

dawg fan Wrote:The dalton boys have been in lawrence county since grade school they have played all their high school basketball at lc. It is trure that robert played some grade school ball at ft. Gay. For those of you that my not know louisa and ft.gay are basically one community separated by the river. It is not like those boys transfered from paintsville to lc.

Timmy played grade school at Lawrence Co? And on the other side of the river is another state.

I'm from LC. But, I won't sugarcoat this like some other have. The Dalton brothers did move to Louisa from Fort Gay. But if I'm correct about this, they are originally from the Columbus, Ohio area. They moved to WV when they were in elementary school. Then they moved across the river when they were in 7th and 8th grades.

Now, why people want to focus on them being at LC is beyond my understanding. People move all the time. I have, you have, everyone has. One big difference in the Dalton transfer and some others is at least they MOVED in to the district. Some forge documents and get false addresses to hide the fact that they didn't actually move. They did, thus this is a dead issue.

But, back to the original point, nobody should be attempting to defend anything by saying these kids moved here before they actually did. So what? Who cares if it were in elementary school or middle school. Makes no difference. Look at Shelby Valley....Pikeville.....Belfry......and you will see players that come from other districts and other states (Williamson, WV for example).

I agree completely. If kids get enrolled in school and are eligible to play then everyone needs to shut up and let them play. I get so tired of hearing about transfers, blah blah blah. If my school got a McDonald's all american transfer in from Chicago, Illinois would I complain about it? Absolutley not. And no one in their right mind would either. Kids move, or transfer, or whatever. Part of the game, and always will be.
