Pikeville @ Paintsville 9/6

I bet the place will be rocking for this one.

Hall is not the best back in the Mountains. Hatfield, Carr & Johnson kids from Belfry are better. If either one of them got the carries that Hall got every game they would rush for 200 yards.

I remember a game in 1982 when Paintsville went to Pikeville. Pikeville was ranked #2 in the state, had a fullback who was going to UK and no one gave Paintsville a chance. Paintsville 17 Pikeville 0. It has and can happen.

That's your opinion. My opinion is he is the best back in the mountains.

Kind of comparing apples to oranges. Belfry is more run based even than Pikeville is. Through 2 games, Pikeville has rushed a total of 95 times by all players. Belfry, just in ONE game, has already rushed 62 times. Out of those numbers, here is what I've found (from KHSAA Website):

Chase Hall 23 carries for 194 yards vs Prestonsburg. Pikeville rushed 53 times that night, so he had 43% of the carries. Then 28 carries for 174 vs Hazard out of 42 carries for the team, or 66% of the carries. In other words, featured back.

For Belfry, out of their 62 rushing attempts against Somerset, Carr had 12 for 35 yards, Fletcher 10 for 76 yards, Hatfield 16 for 101, and Justin Johnson 11 for 110. Belfry spreads the runs out more. Yeah, if you make any of them the featured back in an offense that runs more (typically), they will likely have more yards. Doesn't mean they're better. I think they're very talented, but Hall is better, in our opinion. It is subjective, really. It depends on what you want in a back, and Hall can do a little of everything, and do them all well. Much respect out to the Belfry players though.

Pikeville wins this one handidly, but a year ago ther would not have even been a discussion. Speaks volumes on the excitment that Joe Chirco has brought to the program.

My oldest daughter called and said someone from Pikeville painted something on our field , I would say it will be rockin' and knockin' now for sure.
