Shelby Valley 49, East Ridge 48
#31
My problem with May is that he orders the boys to foul too early in the game. When you are still in the running you don't need to foul with 3 minutes left on the clock and your opponent in bonus zone. I didn't agree with his style at Elkhorn City and I'm not going to agree with it here.

"The Nature Boy" Wrote:Well from what little games that I have watched (and I have just watched a few), Cade Riddle gets most of his points on uncontested lay-ups due to a break down in the other teams press. I dont think Riddle is really much of a threat in the half court game, it looks like a coach could put anyone in close to his size and that player could probably hold his own with Cade Riddle in the half court game.

From the games I saw he could be a great factor if Valley knew how to pass the ball inside instead of jacking up those threes.

SV was 2 for 7 behind the arch in this game..that wasn't nearly as many as East Ridge shot.

East Ridge is like UK, they throw them up from the 3 ALL the time. Some nights those boys can really hit them and others, like against Valley, they can't.

Congratulations Valley!

This game was so much fun to watch. But we all knew it would be.

Apparently you've not watched enough of Valley games. Where you at the game? Cade's points did not come from "uncontested lay-ups due to a break down in the other teams press", as you put it. His first four points came from passes from Mitchell in the first quarter, while Cade was posted up on the inside. He was fouled on one of those shots and made one of his foul shots. He went in at the half with 5 points, all coming from the first quarter. He came back out at half time and scored 6 points on offensive rebounds and one from a pass on the inside. Cade and Jeremy Jackson finished the game with 13 points each. Cade had 15 rebonds.

Where you at the Paintsville game? Cade had 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots. These points did not come from a break down in Paintsville press. He got 2 or 3 uncontested lay-ups from run outs, but the rest he worked for( in a half court game) in the post against Williams and Vanhoose. They couldn't hold their own with him.

Where you at the Mercer County game at Belfry? He worked against a 6' 9", 290 lbs boy to get 24 points and 12 rebounds that game. Again, his points came from his post play in a half court game. Boy bigger than Cade couldn't contain him.

Where you at the Lawerence County game? He worked against Shawn Thompson in the post and had 23 points in that game. Granted they lost, but Shawn couldn't contain Cade for 23 points in a half court game.

Where you at the East Ridge game at Belfry when Cade scored 34 points? Granted most of those points did come from "uncontested lay-ups due to a break down in the other teams press".

Cade is a tough player from what I've heard...He is Shelby Valley's key to success to make some noise in region tournament...

Paintsville doesn't even press hardly so that could help your arguement even more...Cade and Mitchell both are the key contributors for Valley

The difference between Cade this year, and Cade last year is the difference between daylight, and dark! IMO Cade Riddle is one of the top 3 big men in the region, if not the best! Good job Cade, keep up the good work!!!
