MLC was a tough matchup for the Cardinals.

From an unbiased oberserver at the game, MLC is probably the toughest team Sheldon Clark will play this year. MLC is a powerhouse team. The speed they have is unreal. If Sheldon Clark plans on making it to state, this experience will definitely benefit them....not hurt them.

New school, new field, same players. Lot of excitement in this county regarding MLC, tough times for Shelby County....but after this year, MLC will be in the same boat with numerous sports, alot of seniors will graduate, and I predict it will even out here soon. Basically, Shelby has started the rebuilding process a year earlier.

because they was the only top6 or 7 in 3a that didnt lose, thats why ...when you lose no matter who you lose to you go down in rank...:eyeroll:,lol

Don't count on it. MLC won't be rebuilding anytime soon. There are alot of talented underclassmen in all sports.

How was the crowd last night?

From the way it sounds Collins is going to make some serious noise in their 1st year. Congrats to MLC.

I seen MLC play in a passing tournament this summer and they have some impressive skills players. They beat both Boyle and Marion Co. in that tournament. MLC will make some noise this season

Most that thought Sheldon Clark would win either didn't know a thing about MLC or they're just SC homers. Like someone mentioned above, MLC got a lot of Shelby County's players from last season and I think Shelby County only lost a couple of games in 6A.
Those who think Sheldon Clark is a bust because of this are crazy! They played a bigger & faster team tonight and this game will do them much more good than bad.
If Sheldon Clark fans had taken seriously what some of the knowledgeable posters from Western KY were saying, they would have known that SC's chance of winning were nil to none. Basically SC was playing a team that had many players that were 6A last season. Moreover, so I've heard, most of Shelbyville's players followed the coach to Collins.
Let us not give up on the Cards, for they played an extremely good team in Collins, and I would conclude from Collins' performance against SC, they will be a predominate team in class 4A.
The Cards most certainly should not hang their heads and worry about the loss; they must regroup and work on getting ready for Breathitt. And they should focus on the positives; they did score two TDs' and converted two 2 point conversions, and all were against Collins' first team, not JVs.'
Kudos go to the running backs, Jarrell, Ray, and Skyles. They ran hard against a superior team. As a matter of fact, I heard one of the guys' say,
"I haven't been hit that hard since I was a freshmen against Bell County." So Collins was not only skilled but physical as well!
SC must make some adjustments in the line so as to get better. Channing Smith was the bright spot in the line Saturday night. SC certainly missed Corry Crum and Chris Sloan, but as I mentioned, adjustments must be made if SC can do, moving forward, what we feel they can.

The stadium was packed. I showed up at the end of the second quarter and could not find a seat. I was real impressed how the Sheldon Clark fans traveled, the visitors side was close to full.
Collins will be very good this year, good speed, good passing, and will have a good enough running game to keep opponents on their toes. I look for them to have a deep run in the playoffs this year.
Sheldon Clark will do well this year. The biggest problem I saw from Sheldon Clark was dropped passes. They played hard even when the game was out of hand. Good luck the rest of the season.

I would not be so fast to say that MLC will start rebuilding after this year, they have a lot of talented underclassmen that know football and love the game. Will they be as talented as this year, probably not, but they will still have tons of talent at that school...

There was a very large crowd. The home bleachers were completely full and the visitors were almost full. There were people standing on the fence atleast halfway around the field too. There wasn't enough parking for everyone. Lots of cars had to park on Discovery Blvd.

I agree. They may not be as good as they are this year but they will still have many talented players.
