Rrrriiiigggghhhttt... because everyone grows up in one place and spends their entire life there.
I follow news and keep up with things back home, including people still there. Even have friends in the big city of Corbin. Sorry that I enjoy reading news and talking to friends I guess?
I've never said I lived in Corbin either. Referred to it one time as "the area back where I grew up". Next time I'll say "a town forty nine miles from the town that I resided in", even when speaking about a region generally, just so no one is confused here.

So did they cancel with Doss? If so it just proves everyoneâs point about corbin. Sad. We are all the same period and sports are not more important than humanity even though s few schools think so.

Lol.. if anyone can give us insight on the town of Corbin itâs the guy who grew up 49 miles away and currently lives in Texas. Give us more insight and guidance oh wise one. Iâm glad while living in Texas, you still get on this website to educate us. Continue on

Thanks. I'll stick around. I'm good at what I do. I can both stir and steer a pot apparently, but I appreciate the sarcasm dripping in your post (really) because that's much more my style [common ground!].
Since you think my bashing Corbin is baseless, do you think their students waving nooses at opposing players was acceptable (2003 All A Classic vs. OBI-- where I've stated I grew up, all of 49 miles away)? Do you think that crossed a line administration should have stepped in and stopped immediately?
If that's too remote and stale, then was the noose around the neck of a student with dark skin that appeared in the yearbook appropriate? Why would the administration say that it was "in poor taste, but not racially motivated"?
Or, more on topic of this thread, do you think it's weird that it's 2018 and a predominantly black school and Corbin have to cancel their game (which I think was the right call for both) because of, let's be real here, ugly racial incidents?

I bet youre one of those people that believes everything you see on the internet.
I'm not sure what that statement really proves.
I've had people hear my thick Appalachian accent and ask, "did you grow up close to Corbin?" and you usually know what they are really asking.
I've heard some pretty intense stuff, which, for Appalachia, is saying something.
For example:
Are you going to deny that Corbin kids were waving nooses at OBI (a predominantly black team) during the 2003 All-A Classic?
Why did (one) small business print popular "Rebel Week" shirts for Corbin's football game against Casey County? Did those have Confederate flags? Why would Corbin kids be wearing their opponent's logo on a t-shirt... weird, right?
Have there been instances where Corbin captains have refused to shake the hands of black captains on opposing teams (despite shaking the hands of opposing captains who were white)?

There were 2 black girls on the basketball team when I went to Corbin 10+ years ago. They played all 4 years and graduated from Corbin. Seems like you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Oh, the students were doing it. I think it's been well documented other places where some of your own supporters have acknowledged it.

I'll put it like this: if cameraphones had been around back then, if you think what happened this year was anything, then heads would explode at this.
Schools do film games though, so I'd imagine that if someone looked hard enough there'd possibly be film of that game that might have some interesting angles I suppose. I don't think anyone is going to be posting a tape of the game with crowd shots if they are wanting to disprove it, nor do I think anyone posts the film soon.

I think that great quote you used about perception being realistic is spot on in your case.

Yea... so, uh, fake news was original like the first ten times you said it.

My internet has been out. Supposedly, AT&T cut a fiberoptic line somewhere around Barbourville.
Anyway, this thread is and has been way off topic.
Have a nice day folks.
