Best Basketball rivalries in KY
#31
Back when JBS had a decent team, the JBS/KCC rivalry was a vicious one. KCC/PCC and KCC/Hazard have also been big rivalries in recent years. PCC/Hazard always and always will be one of the most vicious rivalries in the state.

Im thinkin it was 02-03 I have the DVD somewhere. It was a great mini series, I think it was called Bluegrass Basketball. As for the rivalry, there are very few places as intense as when these two play at Paintsville and all those people crown into that tiny gym with both student sections right on top of the game. Alot of good times in that student section lmao.

“Relax, all right? Don’t try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they’re fascist. Throw some ground balls – it’s more democratic.”

Eh, sometimes. The two teams played some great games during the '06/07 season, when they were considered the two best teams in the region. Even though Valley won all four meetings between the two that year, they were always fun and very intense. They ended up playing in the regional championship game and SV won by 7.

Back in the early part of this decade, Valley and East Ridge had a good rivalry going too. But things like that seem to go in cycles.

Now, Scott County has moved to the 11th Region, North Oldham has opened up in Oldham County and Shelby County just split. I kind of miss seeing these three teams battle every year in the 8th Region.

Scott Co. Ballard has to be one of the biggest rivals to watch. Ballard would bus 3or4 bus loads of fans. The student sections just chanting smack back and forth. The action on the floor was awsome. electric all night..
