Baseball isn't America's favorite anymore. MLB has killed it. Right now I think soccer is the fasting growing sport in the US. With the American national teams doing better and getting attention this is only going to help it grow. Besides we have fall baseball now why is that happening it takes from soccer and football. I say offer everything and let the kids play what they want and not what the parents want. I would love for mine to play football. However, he was able to start playing soccer earlier than football and now he's hooked. He wants to play football but when he has to choice between the two in the fall he picks soccer. Not me, not his mom but he picks soccer. If he wants to continue with it I'll be there to support him no matter how old he is. If that means he doesn't play high school football and ends up playing high school soccer so be it. Besides learning to play multiple sports usually helps you with each as you build your skills. However, the main thing is I hope he gets a good education and right now thats hard to come by here in Lawrence County.

This is a awsome post . And good for you for being a good parent if every one took your aproch then I think all the sports would be better off. IMO a lot of parents are trying to replay there own child hood trying to make there kids something they wasn't in most cases. I agree with you 100% and good for you for letting your kids make their choice :Clap:

I don't know a lot about soccer but my girl played this year on the first ever high school team for LC and she loved it. They was 4 girls that play basketball that was on this soccer team and they all told me that they loved it also and a couple said they liked it better than basketball. BUt back to the field I would to see LC get turf that way the girls can use the field . I also think that the football field has to high of a crown for soccer but the board is going to have to provide a little better place for them in the future or something will have to done/ The law says that the boy and girls have to be equal not some what the same but exactly the same . The soft ball team went through this a few years ago. With that being said this might be the right time to bring up the turf field because they are going to have spend a few dollors some were might as will be on the F-ball field and be like most other schools in the area. SC and JC have the soccer lines on there turf and it looks awsome.
