I didn't think that station could be heard in Lexington...I was just curious, unless of course it was on the internet then I guess one could listen anywhere

KC 1973 Wrote:Pats2011 this is called playing thru a tough stretch in your basketball schedule. Look at Hazard,s, PCC"s, LCC"s, JBS"s and other teams schedule at this time of the year. Injuries, sickness, and scheduling are a part of basketball. Some teams with deeper benchs and more experience perform better than others. IMO making excuses about losts don't cut it. You play with what you are able to put out on the floor come game time. KCC will need to regroup and give a good performance on Monday. Good luck.

I wasnt making an excuse, it's the truth. I couldn't handle that. But I said the same thing you did. they need to regroup and take some well deserved rest before they take on WYMT.

sassy Wrote:Well boys I have to put my two cents in. I was there along with many fans from Knott Co, and I can tell you that many of them did not return on Saturday. That upsets me alot, If you are gonna be a fan you have to take the bad with the good. Did anyone really expect KCC not to lose a game or 2 along the way? The radio guys from WKCB just ****ed me off with all the blowing about how bad our boys were playing. First off we traveled 3hrs to play the first game without any rest before the game, 2 of our players were playin injured, Stamper didn't need to be on the floor with his injury, and really did you think they would give us any calls? Which is no excuse I know, but c'mon, Amburgey and Ratliff couldn't get within 2 ft of a player or they called a foul. And coach Amburgey needs to let those bigger guys drive the ball inside some, he keeps playin the same way with Cox and Stamper doin all the shootin and they can't have good games every time they play ball. But I would rather see them lose a little tournament like this and come back and play well in the Mountain Classic, I myself, unlike many other so called KCC fans will stick by them win or lose and not talk about them being an embarassment. Thats a way to boost their moral WKCB, by talkin about them like dogs and actin like they just f---ed up their chance at the state title. They are, after all only high school players. So congratulations to LC and Boone Co. you played a very good team, despite of how they played or what ppl say about them. And to KCC you boys are #1 in my eyes, you had a couple of bad games, but so what, come on back home and get your team together and get ready for the games that matter.

Little tournament????

That's what I was thinking.... the teams in this tournament are potential sweet sixteen competition. So, I don't think there's anything little about it.

Well it maybe important to the teams and players who live in that area or region but to me it don't mean ****. Yes, little tournament. How often do you see teams go to those and come back with a win? Not very often, I just don't think they mean anything other than maybe some good practice for our boys.Big Grin

Just like every tournament, many teams do come away with a win. If you hadn't noticed, Hazard will be playing in the semi's tonight gaining great exposure. BTW, this is far from a "LITTLE" tournament. The Republic Bank Classic (formerly the 5th/3rd) has been and is the premier Christmas tournament in the state, and has been host to some of the nation's best over the years. The WYMT is a great tournament for mountain teams, however to be be considered one of the best the Republic Bank Classic gives you that chance.

Sassy, it is great to see your enthusiastic desire to root for your team and they are a good team. We are all lucky to have a forum to comment on. Every team has an off night, injuries, bad calls and even too many games without sufficient rest between games. My team is Shelby Valley, and they have already lost 3 games and in my opinion are in the top 10 in the state, but they have to have their playmaker, Elisha Justice, at 100%, or they are going to get stomped on in the state tournament. Your team will do better as will mine, just hang in there.

Congrats Boone County
I was at the LC game, but i had to come home or i would have been there for the other games as well. Our boys are wore out from practice and games, so yes they are going to lose a few games. and i really dont care if hazard is going to play in semi's... good for them, but i still root for the Pats, even here. Just leave them alone and let them get some rest.

Thank you so much. You don't know how much I appreciate that, and yes you do have an awesome team and hopefully we will do better in the future. I know as most everyone does no team will go undefeated in a season, not many around here anyway, but some of these ppl just can't say too bad and be done with it. They just keep on and I just wasn't raised to take any lip from anyone and I'm too old to change my ways. I really hope none of these big mouth ppl are kids, cuz that I could over look but not by an adult.
