Raceland should hold their heads high. They had an excellent season and no shame in the teams they lost to this year and they should have beat Ashland, had them down 20-7 until turnovers and some big runs did them in that game. Excellent year and Messer had as good a season as anyone around here did. The Raceland defense was so good most of the year and the offense was complete as well. Hats off to an excellent game by Willamsburg and it should be a great contest between them and the Cardinals next week.

Very proud of this Raceland team. Even though our secondary and skill guys were experienced, we graduated 3 of our 5 OL and 5 of our defensive front 7. We never realistically expected to dominate our district, let alone repeat as region champs and get another shot at Williamsburg. We will return our entire front 7 defensively and only replace our center on the offensive side of the ball. We return our entire stable of running backs and both slot recievers, but will lose our QB and 2 WR. Seeing this season go as well as it did for a team that was supposedly "rebuilding", there is good reason to remain optomistic.
