You wouldn't understand. It's an inside joke.

I believe if the Pirates played at Mars, all of the lights at Pond Creek would be out and everyone would be right there cheering them on!! It's just tradition. :Cheerlead
And yes, they might've fumbled more but we didn't have 2 touchdowns called back one that could've eaisly been disregarded, nothing was done wrong.

MadMikeMay is Dustin's father. And yeah, he's a little Mad 8 P
As far as no one else carrying the ball much, it's the way Belfry's offense works. The QB has the option (on the Option...) to hand off to the FB, or to stretch it out. And, just like last year, more often than not it's a safe idea to give D the ball.
As far as the final play goes... They'd have been in the backfield whether we were handing the ball to D or not. It was a perfectly timed and organized blitz that cost us the game on the last play, not poor play on our part. Ashland simply made the right decision to blitz because we'd run the same play from the shotgun formation 5 times in a row. Doubling in your safeties on the same hole means one is gonna get through, and it happened.

No suprise.....many times when we go on the road we outnumber the home teams crowd. In Belfry, football is like religion and the faithful will turn out in droves on friday night to watch their beloved Pirates.

I know how brutal it is to lose in OT but Belfry played a great game. Ashland deserves big props for a win in this one.
