58th District Player of the Year

Give credit where credit is due. Thacker does pull down rebounds, is a solid defensive player, can shoot the lights out and is a good team leader. Thacker and Stapleton make up the best frontcourt in the district, those kids hustle their butts off. Brandon Kidd is unstoppable down low. That's what makes this team at Betsy Layne so unique, everyone has a role and they play well in their position. Player of the year could go to two or three Betsy Layne kids, as well as two or three Prestonsburg kids, however there can only be one. Brandon Kidd should be the 58th District player of the year.

Kidd may have only had 6 pts. against P-burg, but there is more to a game than scoring. He makes up in rebounds, steals, hustling and assists. He's smart enough to pass the ball when he is double-teamed which is most of the games that he has played. It's not just about one game, that's why it is called player of the year. I agree with BBandG, about Thacker and Stapleton. They are really good players that contribute to the TEAM as much as Kidd does. That's why it is called a team.

I am giving credit I know that if Thacker, Stapelton and Kidd all are very good and if one was missing the team would be void. I am not dising anyone. Each player fills their role well, very well and that will take BL all the way. I HOPE!

I couldn't agree more, that's what sets this team apart from other teams, it's the fact that there is no superstar, and no one wants to be the superstar. As a whole they are very competitive and that's the way they, as a TEAM, chose for it to be. Good Luck BOBCATS!!

As sad as it seems I don't think he is a candidate. Ryan has a ton of talent, too bad he will be remembered more for his inability to keep his mouth shut than the skills he brings to the court. Mason Hall is the best candidate from South Floyd, he keeps his head and plays the game, not a lot of flash, just fundamental basketball.
