Go, Play Good Defense, And Bring Back The Victory. Geees!!!
Pikeville fans are not complaining about the bus ride...we have taken many long trips in the past and I am sure that the team/coaches has no problem with the trip this week. Pikeville will be on the charter buses and it is a little different that being on a school bus. I personally used to like the long trips and the charter buses. My favorite one ever was when we were going to Lynn Camp back in the mid 90s and the players charter bus broke down in London and they put all of the players on the cheerleaders charter bus and they had to wait for a ride...lol.

I thought you were going to say they put they players on WITH the cheerleaders....
But as you mentioned, long bus rides don't really hurt a team since most take charter buses now.

The cheerleaders rode home with us and that made it a good trip...lol...Seeing the looks on their faces though as we drove off was fun.

I am a Paintsville fan so traditionally I would want Pikeville to lose but I also want to see a rematch with Paintsville. But after watching Somerset I dont think that they could beat them.
Somerset wins by 2 TD's

I dont mind the Drive to LC that drive to Paintville Friday is gonna be bad. And I hope that Pikeville is in the regional at LC. I think it would be a great match up. May get a good a game as the 03 game

i think that it will be a good game
but one advantage that pikeville has is that somerset has to prepare for 2 quarterbacks
chase is a speed type of runner and mayo is power runner but somerset dodent have to worry about the pass when mayo is in baecause he cant
pikeville is gonna find out really soon that they are gonna have to have a quarterback that can pass

...and how do you propose they do that...
Recruit one from the teams that are out of the playoffs?
Create one from thin air?
Allow the powder puff-winning team qb take over?
Pikeville has the same problem a LOT of teams have...they don't have the "perfect player" at every position.
That's where coaching comes in.
Lynn Camp sure seems to do okay without a "passing qb!"

I'm not sure where people get that JM Mayo can't throw it..he was 5 for his first 7 against Harlan.

This will be a good game. Pikeville has given up 146 points, 129 of those in losses to Newport Central Catholic, Belfry, and Hazard. They held a high scoring Paintsville team to 14 points. If Pikeville can keep Somerest's offense off the field, like they did PHS's, then they can beat Somerset.
Don't expect a high scoring game.

No, he can't throw it 60 yards but I'm not sure Pikeville has the line to provide enough protection for a QB to wait for his recievers to run a 60 yd route either.
JMM has nice touch and can make the passes to about 20 yds.
With Pikeville's line play that's all they need.

he just doesnt have the arm to throw it deep like huffman, but he does have great touch so his passes are usually right on target...watch out for both of the guys come friday nite!

the worst part of it is i can't make to both of the 1-A showdowns. I think i'll be at LC/Paintsville, but this one should be one to see. Somerset pulls away late in the second half. 3 lead changes in the game.

Why does everyone think Somerset is so much better than Pikeville???
They have beaten the teams they were supposed to, barely got by Lynn Camp, and got beaten by Danville.
I don't understand why they are such a favorite.
I agree with you 100% pikeville has proven over the years that they can beat any one on any given night.....and every one knows that lynn camp was the better team in that district any ways.....pikeville 21 somerset 7...........pikeville:#1:
