Let's get it started....
The Panthers are probably the underdog in this one, but as of late their defense has stepped up not allowing any points in the last 7 quarters. The Panthers beat the Jumpers in Somerset to advance to the regional finals and they are playing for the samething again.
Good luck to the Panthers!!!

Never said they wouldn't
But anyone know what is up with the QB situation at Pikeville? Mayo started and played a lot it seemed...but Huffman came in a made some big plays.

I can say with all confidence ....
Pikeville's QB is John Chase Michael Huffmayo.

The Panthers will pull off the upset and book a rematch with Paintsville, but this time the game will be in Paintsville and for a regional title...

Somerset is the # 1 seed and the favorite over Pikeville according to the "experts".
Why does everyone think Somerset is so much better than Pikeville???
They have beaten the teams they were supposed to, barely got by Lynn Camp, and got beaten by Danville.
I don't understand why they are such a favorite.

Pikeville by a late td.

Pikeville by a few in a 2003 rematch. They're going to slip into the Briar Patch and take it again...

A factor that you kids are missing in your equation is the 72 hour bus ride from pikeville to somerset. It is at least 4.5-5 hours in all seriousness. Think aobut how long of a day that is for pikeville. Up at school by 8 am, school til noonish, hellish busride then having had been up and active for nearly 12 hours, a football game.
This one stays close and stays close until the rabbits pull away with it late by 2 TDs. Solid $20 on it.

didn't effect us in 2003, wont effect us this year

Exactly PB...and when you are on a charter bus it's not too big of a deal.
I look for Robinson to step up and carry the team to the regional championship just like Shurtleff did in 2003. :thumb:

I would like to see a rematch of the finals from 03 I think that would make one heck of a game good luck to both teams. I look for Pike to come away in a close one

I'd like to see the panthers win this one...they can, and I'm sure coach Jackson will have a great game plan. The question is will the panthers come ready to play?

Not sure on this one. Pikeville didn't match up well against Hazard, and I do believe Somerset will be quicker than Hazard.

I don't think that it was a Pville fan VV....but you are correct....don't make any excuses...get out there and play your butt off and win the game.

Good Luck Panthers Bring it home

Pikeville. Period. You can bet ye briar patch on it.
11-07-2005, 10:55 PM
The pikeville D is the only thing that will help them in this game.. As of late their offense hasn't been too impressive. The scoreless for 7 quarters thing is good. and all, but if the O can't move the ball then that gives them a shortage on points.. I don't know anything about Somerset this year.. But from what i've heard it should be a pretty good matchup.. But if Pikeville turns it over like they have the past few games, then I would bet that they can kiss this one goodbye..

Somerset by 2 scores

I really hope Pikeville proves me wrong, but I think this one goes to the home team....
