DW, which team do you think is higher than they should be (on the assumption that someone is voting for their favorite school)?

Basically I think Mason Co is getting the shaft due to their proximity to the region.

As for Mason County, I did rank them in both my preseason and the most recent BGR Top 20 polls. However, I did drop them a few spots after their week 1 game, a 20-6 win over Paris. Not that impressive considering that Paris is a 1A school who went 2-8 last year. I lowered them so that I could leapfrog some other teams that had more impressive debuts.

What team do you think is ranked too high and should be dropped a few spots?

Prestonsburg!

The #6 2A school according to the Ap Poll.

They are in a lower class than 3A #6 Sheldon Clark and #5 Mason Co.

Prestonsburg doesn't even make the 2A top 15 in the Massey rating.

Maybe even Lewis.

Trust me Letcher Central could have won by three touchdowns. They should have lost the game, and it wasnt anything Harlan County did. Letcher Central turned the ball over to many times a good team will make them pay for that.

3A is rather weak this season also, besides the likes of Central, Belfry, PT, Russell, and Breathitt County. Every team in the top 10 of 2A could defeat the rest of those 3A teams. As for the Massey Ratings, they are crap. I've said that from day 1.

But Prestonsburg will have a chance to prove themselves this Friday night against Breathitt County.

How the heck can you say 3A is weak after 1 week of play.

This poll is gonna be a bigger joke than the AP Poll if this continues.

Mostly Belfry, Johnson Central and Belfry Homers voting.

Prestonsburg hasn't been in the hunt since the last time they went to Louisville.

This is what he rankings are for to keep us fanatics in uproar!LOL. They are never perfect and never will be. What they are not is completley outrageous,it's close enough to create controversy. Without these top twenties we would not have this thread so i completley love the rankings. Just wait until week 3 and watch them change. It will be alot stranger than we assume!!!

Funny thing is, their was only one Prestonsburg member that voted and that was me, not one Belfry or JC person voted.

Prestonsburg was the 2nd best team in 2A in '03 & '04, behind Belfry. But I'll admit that they haven't been in the title hunt since.

I can't speak for '04, but in '03 I believe that Prestonsburg may have well been the 2nd best team in 2A (I believe only Lloyd Memorial and Elizabethtown could argue otherwise). I believe Russell to have been the 5th best team that season.

I think it was Russell and Belfry in the 2004 Semi's and P-Burg was at home playing playstation.

Takea away the turnover going into halftime and you got a totally different ballgame.

O-Cath might have something to say about that also.

03 Russell lost to a good Lloyd Memorial team in the region final. 04 to Belfry in the state semi's. There are a few teams that can claim that tag. Thats why it is debatable.
