WILDCAT NATION Wrote:They will be with Fairview, Raceland, and Paintsville. They can possibly compete with Fairview some years.
But they are not beating Raceland or Paintsville in any year of this alignment. Good news for Raceland and Paintsville though those teams had to have issues scheduling while everyone else is playing district games

* Single A -
Winners: All of Class A... With Beechwood moving up, Newport Central Catholic dropping to Single A and not being what they once were; the entire class has to be licking their chops because the gold standard just dropped quite a bit.
Pikeville, Raceland, Paintsville, Hazard (Williamsburg at some point soon)... Probably will be four of the top five teams every year with a chance to be favored in the state championship after they run through each other.
Betsy Layne... Tough district but at least stands a chance to compete in the playoffs IF the coaching staff can start to rebuild the program but compared to where it was before Coach Parsons, this program is on the rise.
Losers: District 5 will still have to go through Paintsville and Raceland, plus the district champion no longer has a bye week to recover before playing the second place team from District 6.
** Double A -
Winners: Middlesboro, Shelby Valley, Breathitt County and Prestonsburg... The region really opened up with Somerset, Danville and Lexington Christian all being placed in different regions. All of these schools could really build successful programs and gain interest in football with this alignment.
Beechwood... Both a winner and loser; they move up to a stronger class overall but the east is weak. Should be a cake wake to the state championship for them most years.
Losers: The west... It is simply loaded with talent and they will have to go through each other much like the east with Single A. Danville, Mayfield, Lexington Christian, Somerset, Owensboro Catholic... these are all names that are very familiar with success.
*** Triple A -
Winners: Belfry... probably going to become a main stay at the state championship again, if not favored almost every year.
The western half of the state... Losing Central, Boyle County and Lexington Catholic really opens up the west. Elizabethtown has to like the thought of playing DeSales or CAL better than those three.
DeSales and CAL... No Mayfield, enough said.
Region 3... A few of these teams, Rockcastle, Powell, Mason, Bell, could be able to build and develop regional powerhouses.
Losers: Ashland trades Johnson Central for Belfry, chances of going to a state championship are no better if not worse.
Elizabethtown... Will have to beat both CAL and DeSales just to make it out of the region. Yikes.
**** 4A
Winners: No one!
Losers: EVERYONE! This class is stacked. Murderer's row.

Wow that 4A District with Boyle, Lex Cath, and Anderson County is intense. How bout putting each of these teams in their own districts to make playoffs more fun.
