IMO the worst thing about the field is the lighting, Im shoked the players don't need headlights on their helmets to see.

I heard this from Coach Hager himself, this year they are putting the turf rubber into the ground to hold the grass better until they can get a new field.

I agree 100% there a very good football team with a poor field, I remember when we played them and everyone looked like they were working on a strip job, covered in mud from head to toe

I figured that martin county coal would have already sponsered a new field

na, none of the money goes to the school system. Honestly Idk where it goes but if it went to the right places then our county would be a much nicer place overall. Especially the school system and everything that goes with it.

They should be getting a new field soon.

BOE won't back them.
It's all about the $$ there, and Mark Blackburn doesn't want to give anymore out.

We definitely deserve a new field but I kind of like it now. I don't how it could be the rock with turf
04-15-2007, 03:01 PM
Well if we got turf and HAD to change the name from "The Rock" we could call it the "McCardinal Stadium" since MickeyD's is right beside it......lol I am TOTALLY kidding. And I can't take credit for coming up with that because someone else already did. That would not be good!

I kind of like our field although it truly is a rock when it is dry and a swamp when it rains
I like the fact that other teams dread coming to the rock to play and we are use to it

This shouldn't even be a thread! I'm pretty sure that everyone that has ever played on "the rock" would agree that they need a new field. Being a former cardinal, i liked the rock. I felt it gave us a certain advantage!

YES!!!! They need a new football field badly. When I played there the year before last I had to pick little rocks out of my arms with a needle and tweezers...
