Best Point Guard in the 15th?
#61
Crum got a real awakening against some guards that were both quicker and taller than he was the last couple of days. Welcome to the world outside the 15th region.

cardsfan Wrote::lmao: OUT OF CONTROL? Crum nevers plays out of control.Blake Bundy is really the only point guard that plays out of control IMO!! He drives the lane and either throws the ball away or puts of some type of garbage shot that has no chance of going in!!!

Yes out of control crumfan. He had several costly turnovers in their own tournament. From the games I've seen he pushes it up the court tries to force something, and JC comes away with nothing after a good defensive set. I agree, Bundy also plays out of control. He uses a one handed pass too much, but on the contrary, he does bring it out if he has nothing and sets up the offense.

He had 7 turn overs in the two games he played at Lexington Catholic. He did play some taller and stronger guards but, they were by no means faster than him! Rooster you and your ridiculous post make no sense.Every team that JC played was bigger and stronger at every position in the 5/3 tourney.Holmes and Clinton Co. would win the 15th Region if they were in it.As far as playing in the world outside the 15th Region what team has played more quality teams than JC so far?IMO this will benifit the Eagles come tourney time!! You just like to try and stir the pot and cause all the trouble you can don't you?IMO I have come to the conclusion that some coach somewhere told you that you were not good enough to play and you sat the bench. This is why you harbor the feelings you do!!Crum is one of the best if not the best PG in the 15th Region and their is nothing you can say on here to take that away from him!! So why don't you move on to another player or better yet another team and bash their players because that is all you know how to do!!!

He couldn't even penetrate JC's 5'10" guards in the district last year. Brandon May had to come out and run the point in the second half because he wasn't tall enough to pass over top of the pressure. When he crumbled in the 2nd half, Central took over. Do you reckin there is any other players that play in this region besides Crum? According to you there isn't. Quit trying to make him out as all world, he is very limited on what he can do because of his size.

Neither guard for JC was able to penetrate much past half court against Holmes and Holmes quickest and fastest player didn't even play, then in the second game Vitatoe did whatever he wanted to any time he wanted to. Him and Murray both got took to the woodshed in both games and you know it. When they decide to play the way the game is supposed to be played and play as a team , I'll stop the bashing. The only thng that I have seen up to this point is a bunch of selfish, me, me, me headcases. Johnson Central basketball has gone to the pits. I am now questioning if this is not the worst team in the history of Johnson Central. I am beginning to think that the team in the early 90's and the 2001 team were better than this selfish bunch of egomaniacs.

Paintsville has for one. Their first two games against Bryan Station and Henry Clay, they have played Magoffin Co. at their place, defeated the LC team JC lost to, took 3rd place down in a Fla tourney and defeated the host school #5 in the state of FL in their respective class, have played Pikeville, and so on. Tonight they play Russellville, they are strong and very athletic. I saw with my own eyes, they had a 6'4 white kid dunk over two guys from an Alabama school yesterday in the Hoops Classic. So I would go as far as saying Paintsville has played more quality of teams than JC.

:dontthink You are so wrong Brandon May never ran the point at any time during that game. Are you gonna mention when you all came over to Sheldon Clark for the first game in district play and Spud had a double double scoring 26pts. and 11ast.?Of course not the Eagles had to go as far as triple teaming him to shut him down in the district tourney. The only reason SC did not win was because no one not even Brandon came to help out when he was trapped on the sideline! As far as the Eagles all being headcases and selfish players that is nothing more than pure speculation and lies. There are a few who does not always find the open man and tries to create shots on their own but, what player always finds the open man every single time and does not ever force a shot ?You did have one point that I can answer for you and that is yes Rooster there are other point guards and I mean great point guards in the 15th Region right now but, IMO Spud is the best!!! I also want to go ahead and say it loud and clear that Jamie MCcarty will lead the Eagles to a District and Regional championship again!!!The Eagles will play as a team and will be victorious!!!! You guys just keep coming to the games because we appreciate your support of the boys Eagle Basketball team.Heck we might even give you a free tee shirt!!! :lmao:

I dont know what game you thought that you saw, but Crum absoluely collapsed during the second half of the disrtict game and Brandon May did indeed have to come out and run the point. He may be a great kid and all but he is the very reason that Sheldon Clark folded in the second half. Your so comsumed with promoting Crum that you cant see anything. As far as speculation and lies, all you have to do is watch the little temper tantrums that they pull out on the court. Are you trying to tell me there are not two bigger headcases on this team than Murray (and was Meeks). Jamie ranks right up there with them when he dont get his points as well. Jamie McCarty will never lead anybody to anything. He has destroyed more teams chemistry over the years than any player that has ever played in the Johnson County School System. Jamie never lead anybody to anything last year. Kyle Rice did. And besides you dont know beans about Johnson Central basketball to begin with. You are just on the Jaryd Crum traveling bandwagon, and nothing more. When he's gone your gone. I have seem more JC basketball games than you will for the rest of your life.

And by the way you can keep your T-Shirt . Most people should be ashamed to wear them this year with that bunch of headcases that's out on the floor right now..

This thread is out of control.

Spud is a good point guard -- I'm not going to give my opinion on anyone else and I'm not even going to rank anyone else because I haven't seen enough season play to speculate this already.

I will tell you that Jaryd does have faults. In my opinion he seems almost unaware of his small stature. He needs to use his speed more than anything to gain an advantage and often doesn't. As far as being out of control, at Sheldon Clark he was too reserved, and now at JC its like they're letting him have too much control. Don't get me wrong, the Point Guard is there simply for control, but everyone needs to learn their limits. IF Spud goes to the next level with basketball (college) he'll be up for a rude awakening. His height is going to handicap him severely and I really hate that. It takes a lot of talent to be an impact player when you're THAT small and to be honest, Spud doesn't possess "Travis Ford" type potential. I appreciate his heart and he is talented, I'm not saying that he isn't, I just wouldn't give him the "Best Point Guard in the 15th" title yet... if ever.

To be the best point guard in a good region like the 15th, In my opinion you have to seem like you'd be an asset at the next level. If his height is a risk in high school, what does that tell you for his future in college athletics?

WOW!!! You are going and try to tell me what I know took place and what did not.I 'm not even going to waste time with you anymore. You can point fingers all you want and blame who ever you want for what you think is wrong at JC but ,the bottom line is you don't know what you think you do.The person giving you your info is WRONG!!!

If this thread is out of control why are you posting on here? Nobody ever mentioned anything about him playing at the next level. As far as knowing his limits I'm sure he knows them.I hope you like crow because at the end of this season that is what you are going to be eating!!! I hope you are hungry!!!!

The guard who has far more assists than turnovers and shoots around 50% from the field and in the 80% from the free throw line.

FYI - I'm posting on here to give a good, intelligent, and most of all non-biased opinion.

Try it out.

I couldn't care less what happens this season. I've been out of high school for years.

Ferguson is probably the best.
#74
Tyler Hunley from Magoffin. Few turnovers and lots of assists. Can handle the ball good too.

Tyler Hunley is a true point guard and shares instead of shoots. He takes on average of 6 shots pergame and averages a high assist total.

Not only did Elisha Justice lead his team to a victory over some very tough competition in the Cumberland Falls invitational, he won the mvp of the turny, and knocked off the #2 team in the mountains, he is my pick, most definately, as the #1 PG in the 15th region!

Jaryd Crum of Johnson Central is a good Point Guard. I have watched him play since he was int he 8th grade and he was great then.

I have to defend him in the District game against JCHS last year about him being out of control. When Central came out in the second half and started trapping in the half court. SCHS's head coach didn't make the adjustment to take the burden off of him. It is hard to pass the ball when you haven't got anyone to pass it to. SCHS committed several turnovers and let JCHS start a good run before he call a timeout to try and settle his team down.

Can't blame that on the coach. That is simple fundamentals of basketball that you learn in elem. school ball. Common sense that if a player is in trouble, go to him and help. I do agree about JC's half court D in the second half, it looked pretty good.

Elisha Justice can play, he can play the fast pace, slow pace, killer defense. He does what the team needs. Scores when they need it. Not taking anything away from the others mentioned but Elisha is right there at the top and he's a great kid.
#81
Justice is my pick. He does what is expected of a point guard on the offensive end and he does even more on the defensive end. But it would be nice to see him take some more shots.
