Pulp Fiction Wrote:I know we've all heard people talk about that "Old Football Injury" that when they got hurt, it knocked their team out of the state championship game.
What is the current generation gonna tell their grandkids..... about how awesome their High School's flag football team was. "Sonny, we didn't have a single flag pulled off from us the whole season..... we were a bunch of beasts!" :please: :lame: :truestory:
By that logic you are entirely missing the point, it has nothing to do with anything but $$ blood is in the water. Let 1 award be made, and it will and the flood will begin. Insurance carriers see a way to make money, attorneys sleep well at night if they can make millions off a kids injury. Neither care if the game we love is played or not. It is about dollars folks.

ok, sad times and world we live in. Can we go back to the 1950's and 1960's where the over regulation didn't force all the jobs overseas and you could let your kid walk the streets or leave the doors unlocked?
Of course with equal rights to everyone regardless of religion, color, sexual orientation, disability and whatever I left out.

You should watch the Frontline special on the NFL's response to the concussion issue. That -- and having had 2 family members die after a long struggle with Alzheimer's/dementia -- will make you think twice about letting your kid play football.
But, my son plays football and I thought twice about it. He won't keep playing if a head injury becomes a problem. I welcome people doing what they can -- and what they should -- to make the game safer. It would be very easy to blame insurance companies and lawyers if the game goes away. The inescapable fact is that -- like many dangerous conditions -- we know more about the consequences of playing football today than we did 40 years ago. It's on parents to make the call.

Upon the 2nd concussion during a HS or at any level, find a new hobby. Odds are very great Jr needs to find something else to do. It is a moral responsibility.

There are several different grades and levels of concussion. If you fall and hit your head on the ground your concussed. If you hit your head on your steering wheel during a wreck you are concussed. If a soccer player kicks you in the head you are concussed. If you bang your head in a rugby scrum you are concussed. If you run into the pole holding up the basketball goal at the park, you are concussed. If your dad shakes the &&&&& out of you when you back talk mom, you are concussed. :ChairHit: Concussions are going to happen no matter what safety measures are taken. When they do occur (not just a headache) use the proper protocol. Whats next : where headgear when walking your dog, Remove all basketball goals from parks, suspend all drivers licenses for those who have been concussed, no kicking in soccer, no tough love from parents , and no contact in football :insane:. Im out Roll Tide

What does this have to do with anything. I happen to be a liberal and take offense to your post. We have a politics thread, if you feel the need to vent.
