I'm just saying that you can't take his college career and assume the kid would do ANYTHING in the NBA.
You can call me out on it all you want.
But there were 60 oppotunities for teams to take a shot on him in the NBA draft and no one called his name.
So I'm at least as smart as an NBA scout in that particular situation.
I know what you are saying. The point I am trying to make is you never what a player is gonna do until you put him in the game and give him a chance. Preseason games aren't the same as regular season games. Football and baseball is no different. Preseason games are for shaking the cob webs off, everyone is rusty. Teams shouldn't judge a player by their preseason performance.

^^Technically 6-0, counting his first game where he came off the bench..he won that one for them as well.

In about a months time he will be averaging about 9 points and 7 assists, I hope he does a lot better, but he won't.

Preseason games IMO are 100% about finding out how you order your depth chart, who you need, and who gets cut.
NBA and NFL preseason games (I dunno about baseball. I don't watch regular season games, let alone preseason) always give the young and unproven guys a chance to prove themselves.
If they aren't ready to go when their name is called they get the boot.
I'm not saying Jeremy Lin deserved to get cut....
because obviously he has some skill.
The only point I'm trying to make is that this was 100% unprecedented.
I don't know that we have ever seen anything like this before in the NBA.
Jeremy Lin is the basketball equivalent of Tom Brady right now (minus the rings).

I've been a little bit skeptical that Jeremy Linn would be able to continue playing at a high level. I still think that teams will start defending him better but I am becoming a believer.
I am watching the Knicks and Dallas right now and the Mavs are trapping Linn every chance they get and after one quarter, Linn has 10 points, 3 assists, zero turnovers, and at least one steal. He has also drawn a charge. I am starting to think that this kid is the real deal.

Finnally go to watch him play yesterday. It seems that even though teams have begun to try and shut him down, he then just racks up assists and steals. Also it seemed that the team didn't not run as smooth when he was not in the line-up. Hopefully he isn't just a fad.

Linn is definitely a keeper who will only get better. He reminds me of Steve Nash, only bigger and more athletic. If he can manage to cut his turnover numbers by half without changing his style, he will be a solid NBA point guard for many years. He is a perfect fit for D'Antoni's system, IMO.
When I saw Dallas start the game by aggressively trapping Linn every time he touched the ball, I was afraid he might panic and start coughing up the ball. Instead, he made Dallas pay for double teaming him by finding an open man and he forced Dallas to change their game plan. Then, he made Dallas pay again when they backed off of him by driving the lane and forcing them to double team him. I think that he finished the first half with only one turnover.

Right now they are down to the Nets at home, but Lin almost has a triple double. Plus he only has two turnovers. He is playing great. But so is Deron Williams for the Nets. He is close to 40 points this game.

One thing about Lin, he has a GREAT attitude. That will take him far.
