Jeremy Lin
#1
WOW!!! pretty impressive so far
#2
to be honest, I really didn't know who he was before the Laker Game
#3
He comes up big in the clutch too. Interesting to see what happens with Melo and Amare on the floor with him. If they can play in sync and perform at a high level as a team... look out.

Amare will fit in great. Be like the Suns used to be when they was out scoring everyone.

When Melo comes back the fast pace will go out the window. He is a black hole for the ball. It goes to him, but it don't come back out. He will slow down the offense because he is a one-on-one player. The Knicks will lose their gel. Wait and see.

It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up once Carmelo & Amare come back.

I think if he can average 20 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals as a starter and leads the Knicks to the playoffs then I wouldn't be shocked to see him get some MVP votes. Seriously.
#6
IF Carmelo could play within the offense and just be a scorer and let the game come to him, the Knicks could be very dangerous. But, as stated earlier, 'Melo simply isn't that type of player.

I dont think the knicks knew who he was until they found him on the end of the bench. Like someone else said when melo gets back i dont look for the knicks to get any better or lin either because with melo the knicks game changes.
#8
Lets not be so harsh on Melo. He is a hell of a ball player and one of the deadliest scorers in the game today. Before he admit he shot too much and was controlling the offense too much for his team to have success. Admitting that shows maturity, and admitting it is the first step to solving it. He has been Lin's biggest supporter from the bench in these games. I think when he comes back he will be able to make it work. Look for the Knicks to become a legitiment threat in the eastern conference.
#9
Lin is legit. The thing I like about him is that he's plays under controls and makes smart shot selections. If he continues to play like this, the Knicks will be a legitimate threat in the east. It will be real interesting to watch this team when Melo and Amare come back.
#10
Its sad that melo will have this come to an end when he shoots 40 shots A GAME.
#11
Melo won't do anything but make Lin Better and help him rack up on assists. I don't know why everyone is hating on him, I thought it was a good idea to run your offense throught your best player.
#12
You don't know why everyone is hating on Melo? lol..it's because of his shitty attitude, the fact that he can't change his game no matter what, and the fact that the Knicks' good fortune and Lin's domination will probably end once he gets back. He's a cancer for this team, and would be for most other teams as well.

So his attitude is going to make this team worse?

They were losing with Melo and they are winning without him and the only change has been to add a point guard who was playing in the DL less than a month ago. It's pretty easy to see the effect that a bad attitude can have on a team, regardless of how much talent a player has. D'Antoni and the team now know that they can win with Melo on the bench, so maybe his attitude will improve.
#15
When Melo and Amare were on the floor they didn't even have a true guard on the floor, well they did but they were terrible. With Melo on the floor this team is just better, he could make any team better.
#16
Lin is a prime example of, if you weren't a big name guy in college, for the most part, you never get a chance to play in the NBA. It's a shame that a team had to be down with injuries before this kid got his chance. He has proved he can play in the NBA. Other coaches should look deeper into their bench and give the "little guys" a chance in a real game, see what happens.

Excluding all Kobe/Lebron conversations I have had on this site this is one of the top 5 dumbest things I have ever read. Melo makes teams worse?????? Are you kidding me? Cancer for this team and most other teams? WOW you must seriously be trying to work your way to being a comedian. Melo is a hell of a ball player. Top 10 in the NBA, easy. And Im pretty sure his talent only improves teams. He doesnt make them worse. Thats ridiculous!

Melo is shooting 39.9 percent from the field (only 29.9 percent beyond the arc) this season. With him in the lineup, the Knicks were a worse team than they are now. What is not to understand?

Either he gets rid of the "it's all about me" attitude when he returns or he will see his minutes cut. Amare, on the other hand, has already shown that he can play effectively with a good, unselfish point guard. I expect that he will be much more productive with Lin in the lineup than he was without him - if D'Antoni manages to bring Anthony's shooting arm under control.

If ball hogs like Anthony and Kobe opted for early retirement, most of us would not miss them at all.

Lin averaged 15 ppg in the Ivy League......
would ANYONE expect him to drop 38 on the Lakers?

If I was the Knicks I would trade Melo tomorrow... .

Melo isn't a winner in the NBA... People think Lebron ain't a winner, Melo for sure ain't a winner...

I would to...
if I hadn't given so much to get him.

I say you at least give him a shot with Lin in the lineup.

I know how it looks right now...
but I think there is still a chance that the Knicks are contenders with Lin, Amare, and Melo.

I mean if Manu and Duncan were out for the Spurs and they brought Lin into the lineup we would be thinking "Man, just wait until Manu and Duncan get back". I think you have to look at it like that for the time-being.

One thing that Melo doesn't have going for him...
after he left the Nuggets they got better and after he went down with the Knicks they got better. If you break it down to that it looks like teams are just better without him lol

Exactly, the Knicks finally have the PG they have been needing. With Melo returning the sky is the limit for this team.

College ball is a TEAM sport. And don't let that average fool ya, he did more than just score points.

Well, I wouldn't have gave up so much for Melo.... Melo and Amare might be the most overrated players in the NBA, yeah that can put up pretty good numbers but they don't make anyone around them better. They have the "SuperStar" labels, Superstars win....

People look at Miami and hate of Lebron and Wade for not winning a championship in their FIRST year together but Melo and Amare still might not make the playoffs... They may get in the playoffs now that Lin has saved the season.

I'm pretty confident that basketball at any level is a team sport.

I'm just saying that you can't take his college career and assume the kid would do ANYTHING in the NBA.
You can call me out on it all you want.
But there were 60 oppotunities for teams to take a shot on him in the NBA draft and no one called his name.
So I'm at least as smart as an NBA scout in that particular situation.
#28
I think once teams know how to handle him his stats are going to drop. However, he plays smart and precise and I hope he continues to do so.
#29
I'm holding out hope that he's going to be a stud....
but I've got a gut feeling that in a game or two he's going to be brought back down to life.

5-0 now and hit the game winner. He believes in himself and so do his teammates. I'm all Lin.
