The Contrarian Wrote:What can I say as a Cardinal fan? Well, I guess, first I should say congratulations to Rockcastle for they played extremely well. There definitely was no question of who was the superior team. Based upon seeing the first few plays, I was concerned that what happened was going to happen.
Card fans, do not throw in the towel, for things have to get better!
Cards fans dont get ur heads down just remember coach hager is a great coach. and sc lost a lot of players but if u remeber rock returned everyone and remember sc lost to martha layne collins last year but still had a good season. the offensive line only returned one starter so they just need to get experiance and come district time they will be a contender still.

I honestly dont think its that SC is bad. I really do believe that RC is that good. I tried to warn everyone.
I said 8-2 for Rock but if they can get past Knox, it could be 10-0.

Hats off to Rockcastle County!!!!!! I believe ROCK is on the run to a winning road, this is a good way to start off winning their 35th bowl championship in school history since 1986 and entering the 40th season since 1972. Once again, congrats to my ole proud alumnus.

I dont think SC is bad team. you could just tell an experienced line against an unexperienced line. Rock pushed SC around alot. but I think SC will get better as the games roll along. its a long season.

Good post by The Contrarian earlier. Sheldon Clark will get better. Rockcastle County cannot ride this game all year long, got to suit up and beat Frankfort on Friday.

Wow, the Cardinals once again didn't live up to the hype.
I would understand if they got beat by 1-2 td's, but they got absolutely embarrassed. Where is this Cardinal team that was supposed to beat Rock by 2 td's? Can't say I was impressed by anyone besides Tim Smith, that kid is a stud.
Bj is looking like a good quarterback if he just had a decent o-line to protect him. Does the o-line just lay down after the ball is snapped? Hopefully the Cardinals can get it together, if not, this is going to be one long season.

Impressed with the two fumbles and the 15 yard penalty for throwing the ball at the tackler, sorry but I was not. Very poor sportsmanship and attitude from this one, you weren't impressed with Taylor Chapman? This kid played his heart out and BJ did too, KP tried to play through an injury and made several good runs against Rockcastles 1st team and was getting rocked but kept getting up, Rockcastles D was set up to stop KP and they did a good job. SC couldn't move the ball ! I guess the new line coach graded out a big fat F!!! Hopefully Coach Hager realizes he is the Head coach and clean house!

I got the felling that smith was out there for him self and not for his team. like in the 4th he breaks a 15 yard run and gets up and flexes when his team is down 39-0. I was impressed with kp on how he kept a fighting. you could tell he was in pain, but would not come out. I also thought SC team had really good sportsmen ship. one time rockcastle's zack reams got knocked out of bounds and there was 3 or 4 sc players came over to help him up. very classy team.

I asked a couple of kids if there was any smack mouthing out there that night and they said that there was absolutely none with several of the players talking during stoppages and after the game. Good luck to Sheldon Clark on the rest of the season.

Same reaction to this one as everyone else...wow. Not that Rock isn't good (believed it), but that they took out a pretty SC team in such fashion. Congratulations.

I didnt see the game so Ill not presume I will know what happened but I know they are much better than this. I feel very bad for a few boys that may be scholarship potential if this is the way the season continues.
Sheldon Clark lost to a very good Rockcastle County team. Let's not diminish their performance in any way, for in addition to the superlative performance of Clark Rowe, their line was so superior to SC's line that it was ridiculous. On the blocked punt in the third quarter, I think there were three or four Rockcastle guys that weren't even touched. Again, SC's line was just overwhelmed, to say the least.
As has been posted previously on this thread, SC did very little against Rockcastle's varsity, most of Tim's gains was when their JV's were in.
In order for Sheldon Clark to get on track, the line must improve dramatically. Nothing more, nothing less!
Let us hope that this loss is a motivator to improve, to get much better, and to get mean. Let us hope so. If not, it is going to be a very long season.
Oh, I almost forgot, there was one very bright spot in this fiasco, Taylor Chapman played a fantastic game; he gave his all.
Well, this week's game against Prestonsburg is an opportunity to get some redemption from Saturday's overwhelming loss. So, Card fans, don't give up!
Some good news: I heard from a reliable inside source that KP was not injured seriously and will be at full strength for this Friday's game.

Shocked me when I saw the score. I think I predicted Sheldon Clark to win by a few td's. Congrats Rockcastle!

where is all the speed SC was supposed to have, 4.4 guys, HA

Um, let's see, even with 4.44 speed, just as soon as that 4.44 back gets the ball, two, three, or four defensive players are all over him, and then he isn't going anywhere. Rockcastle's superior line dominated the game!
Sheldon Clark has to shore up their line, and if they can't, that speed isn't going to help very much.
Moreover, sometimes I think speed in itself is overrated.

The Chapman name was called on several tackles...he did play a good game. My apologies for any disrespect any Rockcastle fans have shown you all on here. I know that team is better than what they showed.
