If people will leave Hyde alone, it'll probably be the best decision he's ever made. So many more opportunities in Lakeland, FL than in Manchester... and I'm not just talking about football opportunities. I'm talking about many more life opportunities that can only broaden your horizons and make you a better person.

I think that if a kid can play at the next level that is awesome and I do believe that scouts will and can find players no matter where they play. That is a great head coaches responsibility to get their junior players film and name out there. What if Hyde gets down to Lakeland and the talent is so crazy that he sits the bench. If he does start what about the kid whose place he took? You say he can come back and play his senior season here....thats bull crap. He is leaving these guys behind. Are they just suppose to pat him on the back and roll out the red carpet for him. I don't think so. Jacob finish what you started as a TIGER. Shannon is the adult in this situation he needs to talk him into staying. The last few years we have had our homegrown talent getting college offers more now than ever. We are getting the attention of colleges. Doors are beginning to open up for our future players....Shannon by doing this you are helping slam them shut again...I want the best for Hyde as well as ALL our kids from Clay County but this is NONSENSE and I think everyone knows it. :dontthink
I have a question for you, in your current job and it was topped out and if you made this move to a new job that you would gain much more job security and promotion.......would you go............sure you would so would everyone else. So, stop hating on this young man for wanting more and I also would be willing to bet that Shannon or Jacob never called you and asked you your opinion on this matter. So, I would say they dont give a rat what you think!!!!

You must care what I think because it got a reply out of you....what makes you think anyone cares what you think...maybe they do...maybe they dont. That is why it is called an opinon. I am not hating on Jacob. I think the world of him. I just don't agree with the message that Shannon is sending by taking him to Florida. Is Hyde the only kid on our Tiger team that can have a future playing in college? NO... Why don't Shannon just rent out an old motel down there in Lakeland and take a bunch of our kids with him...NONSENSE and I will be quiet now and see how many agree with you....and how many agree with me. That is the fun of it...nothing personal.

When did those college offers start increasing, when Coach Arnett came to town and starting pushing for those kids to get the scholarships. We have more kids get college offers these last 3 years than we had in the previous 10. Not all of them took the offers but they has the opportunity.
I am sure he would take all them if the situation was right and he thought they could play. Quite honestly Hyde is one of the few here that could play there. We have great kids, but not everyone can compete at that level. There are a few others on this Tiger team but their situation is not the same as Hyde's. As far as opportunity there is no comparison to what is available for him there and what is here. That also goes for his future after football. It is sad to say but lets face there is very little opportunity for our kids that stay here and most will have to leave here to find good jobs after school.

So without reading through 64 posts, who is the Clay County head coach? Have they hired one?

Kenny Roark former Middlesboro coach

Coach Roark needed a change. He will do a great job. The most important thing will be him putting a staff together. Clay is in a tough region, but Kenny played a tough schedule at Middlesboro. He would play a much tougher schedule than Bell, but would not play Bell. Never made any sense to me. Well anyway Good Luck Coach Roark. It will be nice to see him on the sidelines again. Clay made a good hire. Come on coach bring your son to Clay.
