The Lexington Republic Bank Classic/ Nathan Martin made headlines with 36 points against Seneca. 31 points against Scott. and 22 points against Lexington Catholic. Just saying that is a little noise down state amid competition. and I bet he is better than you are. Also Hobo has lead the State in scoring. I bet the other players across the state know these two.

Yes McCoy has lead that state in scoring. But these players have made what little noise they have this year. IMO it takes you should atleast have a couple of good years. Also, Mr. Basketball goes to the best player in the State. IMO these boys are not top 10 players in the state.

Did Martin's team win these games?
I would consider myself pretty knowledgeable about basketball across the state of KY and the top players across the state, but honestly I've never heard of Nathan Martin until this thread. Sorry, not dis-ing him, just never heard of him. To really be honest, I could not tell you who he plays for unless I go and look at the earlier posts on this thread.
Is he a senior, what position does he play. I don't think he was on any of last years all-state teams (Lexington Herald-Leader or Louisville Courier Journal).
Let's be real, there are several seniors already signed with Division 1 colleges; Behanan is top 25 in the nation and a McDonalds All-American. Martin isn't even in the conversation for Mr. KY Basketball this year.
Last question, who is recruiting him or has he already signed?

Chane Behanan:Thumbs:

He plays for Betsy Layne, winners of the All A. Back to Back District Champs. First district title in 17 years, Runner-up 15th region last year against State Champs- lost by 8, better than any team at Sweet Sixteen. 13 year old runners up in State AAU.

Did you really just say that Betsy Layne last year was better than any other team in the Sweet 16 other than Shelby Valley? :please: :lmao:

I said they played the State Champs closer than any other team at the Rupp last year. They had it within 3 with 3 minutes to play. Thats what I meant.

What colleges are seriously recruiting him? If he is a Mr. Basketball candidate, I'm sure several colleges have already offered him.

probably Alice Lloyd

Don't forget several D1 colleges at that. Just like Mr. Knipp, Behanan, Zollo, and Stenzel had before they committed.

I saw BL against Danville in the all A and yes Martin was a decent player and I heard alot about the other games he had. But he did not look to me like an ever remote Mr. Basketball... I am sure he is a high quality player, but there are a few ELITE candidiates for Mr. Bball this year and he is not one of them.

Pretty bad last years and this years Mr. Basketball will be going to Louisville!
Would you really take either one of them above anyone in Calipari's last two recruiting classes? Outside maybe Vargas. He was just a last minute addition do to Orton leaving. UK needed the size.
