Do you think that the Head Coach and Athletic Director should make every attempt to schedule the strongest non-district opponents to toughen-up for District play or should they schedule lessor teams to boost morale and provide a better overall record ? Personally I think the best teams you can get is the most satisfying to the Kids and the Program... :wink:

I'm not going to do a full top 10, simply because I do not have reports in from each team in Class A and really, after the top 4 or 5 the bottom teams do not matter. But it should look something like...

1 Beechwood
2 Newport Catholic
3 Mayfield
4 Louisville Holy Cross
5 Danville


Pikeville, Frankfort, Hancock County, Lynn Camp, Williamsburg, Murray, etc. should round out the bottom 5+ or so. Not like it really matters: The power is always in the Top 3-5 in Class A.

How important is game film to your program ? At SWHS it is very important. During season Friday's game is viewed by team and each player is graded on his performance on Sun. Then on Mon. game film of the upcoming Friday nights opponent is studied by the Varsity. We have 3 cams working each game, end-zone cam, upper 50 yd. line, and the sideline cam...We don't miss much. Also, after the season is complete, highlight films are compiled for each player planning on playing at the next level and sent to interested College recruiters and Head Coaches. Plus each player is presented each game copy as a momento for posteriety and his family. All volunteer and done for the betterment of the team and it's players... 8)

Do you think that a Head Coach resigning at such a late time is the proper thing to do ? Personally I think that any HC resigning effective FEB. 1 or later had better have sickness or death in the family. It may be a little harsh but to just cut out on the Kids is unforgivable especially this close to Spring Practice...

This time of the year some schools are gearing up for the 2005 season. At SWHS we are having our annual Liftathon this Sat. Players compete and take $$ pledges for lbs. lifted. These pledges go towards the purchasing of our Spirit Pack (pants, shirts, jackets, under-armor, game and practice cleats, ect. ) After the Liftathon we all attend our Chile Dinner and Auction. Donated merchandise and Baked Delights are auctioned off. The combination of Liftathon, Dinner and Auction raises substantial funds for our program. It is also an opportunity for Players, Coaches, Parents, Alumni, and Boosters to get together socially. What is your football program planning this Spring ??? What does your program do to raise much need money ??? :?:

TE John Mark Stephens of Prestonsburg made it official yesterday afternoon when he signed to play football at Pikeville College. Congrats Johnny, can't wait to have you up here, I need a roommate.

Who do you think will be an upset team next year in Class AA Region 4. And when I say upset I mean a team that will do worse than expected, or a team that will do better than expected.

My guesses are:
Pike County Central and Leslie County will do better than expected
Belfry, Prestonsburg, and Breathitt wont be as good as they have in the past.
