Who do you think has had the best football program over the past decade in the moutains.

I think its a close call between Pikeville and Belfry. Im gonna have to say Pikeville.. They are proven winners year and year out. These statistics are estimated but I think Pikevill has won 9 disctrict titiles in 10 years. 6 or 7 regional titiles. Maybe even a state titile or to back in the 90s.. I dont wanna take anything away from Belfry as they have also represented the mountains well. With recent back to back state titles. There may be even more.. I would like to say congratulations to both of the Pike County teams for giving for representing the moutains so well. Prestonsburg and Breathitt County runs a close 3rd to these programs. You can go anywhere in the state and bet you that everyone will know the names Pikeville, Belfry, Prestonsburg and Breathitt County. Mountain Football is strong as ever thanks to teams like these.. Check your Pm's and reply. I just want to know if you are going to lock every thread I start that starts a debate? This is a sports talk site, and all my threads are about sports just because some people disagree doesn't mean you lock it up, I believe we should be able to have debates.

This comes from an earlier thread where someone said that PCC would atleast be in 2nd or 3rd year in year out. I simply do not agree. The district PCC is in right now is very similar to what they would move too. Hazard and Paintsville had a down year last year, but year in year out Hazard and Paintsville would beat PCC. I think that PCC would have a tough competition with South Floyd trying to make the 4th spot.

Coach Davis has resigned at East Ridge. I really hope that Eric Ratliff is offered and accepts the opening.

I heard he was thinking about going to Pikeville College. That would b a waste of talent.

Josh Banks- Johnson central
Doug Howard- Belfry
Matt Slone- Prestonsburg
Mike West- Lawrence Co.
Barrett Rogers- Pikeville
Mike Fannin- Prestonsburg

I will try my best to make this clear to all of you who think I am bashing Varney. Honestly, I do not know who is the better of the backs because I have not saw him play. I do stand by my statement that there is no chance and I mean no chance he runs a 4.4 40 yard dash. PCC fans say he is better because of his stats and such. I say you all really have nothing to justify your claims. This will be Weston Robinson's third year starting for the Panthers. The past two years he proved himself as being one of the better backs in mountains, not only against the weak district opponents, but also against the tougher teams Pikeville faced as well. Varney on the other hand started last season and put up better numbers than Robinson, but he always played the entire game, plus he didn't have another great back to share carries with. You say I haven't saw the things Varney can do when he finds a whole, but really you do not know. All you know is what he can do against the competition that is not good, or the JV of the other teams. Robinson is proven and Varney is unproven. If he is as good and as fast as you say then he really should take his talent else where.
