Congrats to the Belfry Pirates!!! I'm really at a lose of words right now. Been many years trying to accomplish the task of winning a 3A title. You young men have made our community proud. Awesome year with an amazing ending to it. Thank you.

Wayne County was more than I thought they'd be! Their speed and defense and the QB were all amazing!! Great job Wayne County!!

A big congrats to my Belfry pirates. I really don't even know where to start. A couple bad calls in my book but not gonna dwell on that. These boys deserved this championship and I'm so glad I was able to be there. Wayne co. you def deserved to be there and I would bet that you will be back. Don't hang your heads and keep working but for the time being THE BELFRY PIRATES ARE BRINGING THE GOLD BACK TO POND CREEK BABY. 3A STATE CHAMPS. CONGRATS HAYWOOD AND THE BELFRY PIRATES. HEY BUCSLOVER, really enjoyed the time we was able to spend chatting over the last two days. It just makes it that much more special to be in the stands that you have cheered with all season long. First off... much respect to Wayne County. What a darn fine defense! They did things to Belfry that no other 3A team has EVER done...even stouter than Central. They played their butt off and there is absolutely no denying these were 2 very evenly matched teams.

Belfry Freshman.... Woolum with the 35 yard FG... Hall sealing it with the INT... great games by Bentley and Horton as Belfry utterly shuts down the Wayne run game and does what no other team could do and stop their offense

So proud of these Belfry Seniors...4 trips to BG and they finally FINISH THE JOB

The lack of a running game hurt Wayne Co., but they have relied upon their passing game all year and it brought them to the dance.

I told him yesterday morning before he left that he was going to kick the game winning field goal as a sort of encouraging moment. Danged if he didn't do it. I'm proud of you bud. First off, Congrats to both teams. These are the types of games we live for. A DAMN FINE defensive battle in harsh conditions.

Secondly, congrats to Belfry. Especially to the seniors! After three straight disappointments in the title game, they kept working their butts off and capped off their career by finally earning themselves rings.

I'm glad I got to see this game live. Most people said this would be the best game of the weekend and boy were they right. It was nasty weather and that played well for Belfry. Both teams left everything on the field and it's a shame someone had to lose, but Belfry was the better team today. It was an old fashioned slobber knocker and fun to watch.

Congrats to Belfry. I had Wayne tagged since last year to take home the state title but you guys never cease to amaze me.
Nice finishing touch on a year where Haywood won the coaching thing.

I would have really of like to seen this game play on a good sunny day. These are both special teams, and if it weren't for 2A and 3A football, the state championship week would be a complete bore most years. Its games like these that we should see in the state championship.

Once again, congrats Belfry. You got another one.
