Congrats to Coach Anderson and the Lions.
Maze was blocking shots from all angles.
Devils were, for some reason, reluctant to pass the ball to Davidson in the post. That has to change.
Tyler Parsley was a bright spot off the bench for the Devils. By mid season, he could be a large contributor.

Boyd looked much improved and Russell looked like a team with no chemistry.

Hey FBALL. I'll be up your way this Friday when my son plays at Fairview. I'll be the one keeping the book for Paintsville.

Was there, saw the whole game. Now, maybe you can explain to my why the Boyd kid was taken out with 6:20 to go in the 4th and not replaced until 1:40 remaining. He was Russell's only real outside threat. Games are won by what players do without the ball..... I saw too much standing around .... Things will get better... Merle will take care of that....

They will get that tomorrow when they play Rose Hill at home.

Glad to see Coach A getting the early season wins. Those will definitely give the Boyd Co. guys the confidence they desperately needed after last season.

Boyd is strictly a spot up shooter and if you noticed, he has a very slow release. He hit a couple of threes but was way off the mark on several more. He is not a good defender, so I believe Coach Kidwell went with who he felt gave him the best chance to win. Boyd does not move well as he is always trying to spot up for a three.
Davidson needs many more touches and I think they may have better options at the point than Gooky. I wish the Devils well for the rest of the season but they have a long way to go. They have several games with Raceland, Rose Hill and I believe Boyd again that they should win.:devilflam

Russell does not play Rose Hill and there is nobody else on the roster as quick as Googie.
Russell's problem the other night is that nobody was hitting shots and they do not look like they are used to playing together. Both are things that can be worked out. That and Boyd County plays some pretty disruptive defense in the half court. If the refs would have called all of the fouls in that game it may have finished one on one.

My bad on the Rose Hill statement. I should have checked before posting. With the turnovers and blocked shots Googie (Sorry, I thought his name was pronounced Gooky) had against Boyd Co, I thought there might be another option.

I've heard some of the kids on Russells team don't like each other. Dissension in the ranks is not good for the devils. They need to find that "Inner peace" in that Utopia we all call "RAM LAND".

The talk I have heard is either Tomcat Alley or the Lions Den.
