Impressive win for Bell!!!
This win will look even better when Harlan County plays for a 5A region title in a few weeks @ Pulaski.

Ouch... Looks like bell is still the king of the mountains! Cant wait to see all the harlan county post about this game.

Congrats Bell, keep your heads up Black Bears, this game will give them both valuable experience for their upcoming playoff run. Bell and Harlan will both have deep runs in the post season this year.

did Davenport play?
Nice win against a solid bunch of kids for Bell. The Bobcats are tough for sure.

Congrats to Bell. Very good team and a class act on and off the field.
Davenport did play....Guess that covers the credibility of my source that said he would not...lol. Had one 78 yard run in the 3 and a couple for 20+, one for 9.
Close game midway through 3. 7-0 after 1 on a short score after a blocked punt. 14-0 after 2 on another HC miscue (fumble). BC's third score was late in 3rd on the 78 yarder by Davenport. Ensueing Kickoff HC fumbles and Bell goes for the jugular...successfully I might add. Next possession HC tries a fake punt after a time out that was a disaster. Bell goes for the jugular again with success.
At one time the rushing statistic was 119 to 106 Bell and the score was 14-0 again with both scores coming on turnovers.
HC for the most part played good defense, had two or three big sacks for losses. Bell hit the jump pass twice for big gains, once to Hylton once to Osolonian (sp).
Smith & Whithead did not play for HC. Obviously turnovers played a huge role but the thing I noticed that stood out was Bell played totally loose and HC played tight. Strange enough this loss might help more than it hurts.

I don't like crow! Bell is the better team. Harlan County had a lot of mistakes, but when you play a good team I guess they create the situations to cause those mistakes!
For the record I severly dislike Bell and losing to them don't help!
I believe I will go to Cincinnati for the weekend!

Giving up 35 points don't sound like good defense to me pal.
The game was never close, it was never in doubt. Everybody knew Bell would win big from the start, even Harlan Co.
And now your claiming this to be a good thing, after you predicted the unrealistic upset.

Who does Bell have in the first round?
10-29-2010, 10:40 PM
Not a surprise.
Like I said in the prediction thread, this is NOT even close to a rivarly.
Bell won't look at a team that they beat with little effort and have never lost to as a rival.

Very impressive win by Bell County. Best of luck throughout the playoffs and hope the 'Cats can bring another state title home to the mountains of EKY.

I was thinking this will make the Bears good and mad for a playoff game but I will talk about that when that thread is started. I feel like we played pretty good defense at times! I was a little disappointed in our crowd noise down 14-0 and on Bells third down plays our crowd did get very loud except for our group of Mama Bears!

harlans d played well, hate to say it but the game was closer than the score indicated (as odd as a 35 point shut out sounds) bell played on a short field the whole game. bell didnt have a long sustained drive either. harlans offensive miscues killed them and bell made the most out of them.
10-29-2010, 10:58 PM
Just when victories couldn't get any more impressive for Bell County, they go and shutout Harlan County.
Congrats Bobcats... I'm pullin' for you guys to bring 4A back the EKY.

The Bears didn't take care of the ball. It wasn't so much Bell stopping the Bears run game, but rather the Bears shooting themselves in the foot, fumbling, fumbling, driving and then fumble it. Bad snap, bad handoffs, mishandling, not having the ball covered. The Bears missed chances by not executing the game plan. Bears lose focus late and Bell reels off three TD's and blows it out while the Bears hang their heads. Fact, Bell capitalized on the Bears miscues. Bell had several big plays. They had it handed to them in the redzone several times. Good luck to Bell. Go contend for it. Bears must forget this and prepare for Mercer. Congrats to a very good Bell County Bobcats. Get Prepared for Mercer and ROLL!!

were you at the same game? Cory D had a 85 TD run, Oslonian and JD both had 2 big jump pass catches for both big gains.
Bell Co got to the 2 yard line and put the JV O and didnt punch it in there at the end of the game. Easily should had been 42-0...

He was right.
Bell had three two-play TD drives. Both teams had 12 first downs.
Bell is a great team, but the mistakes made it easy.

Those were the several big plays that I mentioned. Other than those the Bears defense played fairly good. Bears gave them the Ball in the red zone several times. Miscues did destroy the Bears chances. Bell also did have to punt some too. Turnovers on a drive, over and over. Bell took it and capitalized.

Wow, I can't believe you guys are saying the game was closer then the score when the final score is 35-0 and could have been 42-0 if Bell hadn't shown Harlan Co mercy.
Gez, accept the loss and move on.

I didn't say anything about them not being able to. But there's no reason in them making up lies.

Let me state something for the record...........bell had two turnovers for the nite.........inwhich one was inside the redzone itself.........at this same time harlan co could not score the possession before this turnover and then could not capitalize.........its called great defense.........this game was not handed to us by any means.............good teams find a way to win and this nite we won with great defense

Davenport carried the ball 4 times and scored 4 TDS.
Harlan didn't come up with a good defensive game-plan it seems.
Congrats to Bell once again, go win state!

Bell Co's defense always makes the other team have turnovers. Heck we blocked a punt tonight as well. Our passing game started slow but finally came in the 2nd half.
I really wished we would had kept the varisty O in there at the end and made it 42-0. We all know HC would had if they had the chance.
