EKU's Letcher pulls a Marcus Vick
Eastern Kentucky University senior Ronnie Letcher is suspended indefinitely from the football team, the school announced Monday, for âdetrimental conductâ during Saturday's 23-13 loss at the University of Louisville.
Scrambling for an onside kick in the fourth quarter, Letcher had UofL receiver Doug Beaumont pinned to the ground. As Letcher got up, UofL's Victor Anderson made contact with the back of his helmet, which EKU coach Dean Hood said was ânot violent.â But Letcher responded and was caught by broadcast cameras throwing a punch at Beaumont's helmet and stepping on his neck and shoulder area.
Hood said he didn't see the play live and that he apologized to UofL coach Charlie Strong on Monday by phone.
Hood also said Letcher apologized to his teammates during a Monday night meeting and that he knew Beaumont and would call to apologize personally.
As for the suspension, Hood said it could vary from one game to being kicked off the team but that he would take his time to evaluate Letcher's actions moving forward.

Good That's what he deserves. i don't care who you are, that's wrong, no one should be stepping on another players shoulder and throat area or throwing punches not even if its a huge rivalry game, there is just no call for it
