I saw the other poem, but I wasn't sure if this was posted here. This was posted (and written) over on catspause.com by someone names Ray Burns. Good job Ray! IMO it tops the other poem.
Louisvilleâs Nightmare Before Christmas
âTwas the night before the big Bluegrass war
The Cardinals were ****y, ranked number four
The Cats are down this year Card fans repeated
Theyâve lost three games and weâre undefeated!
The only problem with that, Card fans failed to communicate
Was the best team theyâd beaten was Arkansas State
Or Richmond or Akron, what a murdererâs row!
With a schedule like that, who wouldnât be 6-0?
Louisvilleâs banners were hung in the Hall with great care
There was plenty of room, though, with only the pair
A few miles down I-64 in Ruppâs Big Blue Heaven
The rafters were full, with banners numbering seven
Over in Loserville there arose such a clatter
Weâve not played anyone? Aw, that doesnât matter
Weâve got Slick Rick, Palacios and Dean
Bellarmine College said weâre the best team theyâve seen
So with the Cats playing poorly, the Cardsâ confidence soared
But on that Sa****ay they were outhustled, outplayed and outscored
But how âbout Pitino, surely heâll pull us through
Nope, thanks to Orlando Smith, they were outcoached too
One thing about Rick, though, he sure was dressed nice
But the last two times heâs faced Tubby, heâs been beaten twice
His shoes all shined up, his bald spot nicely concealed
Toupee, plugs, or combover? It may never be revealed
Enough of the slick one and back to the game
Rondo shredded the Cardsâ D, he put them to shame
Even the Catsâ big men came to play on that day
On Obrzut, Shagari and even Sheray
With a wink of an eye and a twitch of his nose
Pitino screamed throw the ball in to Johnson, Padgett, any of those!
Johnsonâs too winded to lead the inside attack
And for most of the game Padgett looked more like Beau Zach
Like a bowlful of jelly Rupp Arena did shake
When Crawford flew in for a dunk on the break
The visions of victory that danced in Rickâs head
Were starting to fade, they were now all but dead
Rick and his fans now need an excuse for the loss
Youth, bad calls, injuries says the Cardsâ boss
Itâs too bad Garciaâs no longer driving the lane
Maybe he could come up with another ankle to sprain
Two years in a row the same outcome itâs been
Done in last year by Sparks, this year by UKâs big men
How can the egos of the Cards and their fans still be inflated?
As they exited Rupp to chants of âOVERRATED!â
Critics say Tubby canât coach in a pinch
But at least Steve Masielloâs not sitting on our bench
They also whine that our coach canât sign stars, he wonât recruit right
Theyâre right, I wish we had guys like Gianiny and Millard wearing the Blue and White
Bring back Little Ricky some tirelessly recite
He plays up-tempo and presses all night
They say bring back that exciting run and gun
Theyâre right again, in Rupp on Sa****ay, his team put up a whopping⦠61??
For a guy who can neither coach nor recruit big names
Orlando âTubbyâ Smith sure does seem to win a lot of games
So for those bandwagon jumpers who still want Slick Rick
He coaches right up the road, you can get there real quick
Whatâs next for the Cards and their fans on this day?
Syracuse? Villanova? UConn? Whereâs cupcake C-USA?
Before Tubby left Rupp after the Cats turned out the Cardsâ lights
He said Merry Christmas all Cats fans and to all Cardsâ fans⦠âOuch, tough night.â
