Hoping that you are both wrong...........

rumors are rumors but i heard it through someone that told me coach wright told them 2 years ago that if the estill job came open he would apply... bart is "over the hill" and he runs to slow of an offense

don't know about Coach Wright Coming. but Bart would be a good candidate. he's won us a District Title in 85, yes in the district with Clark, Montgomery and Bath.
there's a story on bart, as soon as the website its on comes back up, ill post it

Estill would be very, very lucky to get Bart Rison. My opinion- he's too good for Estill!

I have heard for several years that Danny Wright has wanted out of Lee County. However his wife is from Lee County and cheerleading sponsor so I dont see him leaving.

Yeah, sometimes a person gets stuck somewhere because of family. Speaking of family, I expect Kyle Christopher will have the inside track for top spot at Estill.

i was informed kyle christopher didn't want it. dont know the specifics but that's what i heard... and BIG SIS i was actually in the locker room and on the floor when estill county beat clark county in the districts a few years back and bart came in and i quote "I"m very proud to be an Estill Countian, I will always be an estill countian and am very proud to say that" so how can you say he is too good for Estill county. I just dont think Bart would fit good with his style of play..never said he wasn't a good coach

#1. I meant that he was "too good" of a coach to go backwards. Yes , Estill would be a step back for him after all of his years at Montgomery.
#2. He is "too good" of a coach (and a man) to have to put up with all the crap certain families/parents dish out to the coaches (not only in basketball)
in Estill.

question i have is will Bart come out of retirement (Basketball) and quit coaching softball to coach the Engineers???
02-25-2010, 04:28 PM
I had forgotten about the softball. Is his daughter still playing or has she graduated?
02-25-2010, 04:31 PM
i dont care what school you go to you will have parents that are going to get mad if you dont play their kids.... Every county is political and every county has those parents. Quit making out Estill to be bad. Maybe you're a mad parent...i'm just saying. Estill is a good school and great atmosphere

NOTE to Coach Tiller:
Thank you so much for your 6 years of hard work at Estill county. Five of those six years were really a lot of fun! Thanks for all of the basketball success- District title, several trips to Regions- But most of all for those young men that you helped OFF the Court.
Please remember that some fans focus on the positive instead of looking for ways to tear a man down. Good Luck to you in all of your future endeavors.

Zodiac- You are completely right. My point is why does it have to be that way? I love Estill County and I am not trying to make Estill out "to be bad". I was simply observing that things here COULD be better. Maybe politics and angry parents don't belong in high school athletics. At the very least, those things shouldn't be calling the shots. (pun intended)

I ain't sure you got the facts you need to be makin all these accusations.
02-25-2010, 05:06 PM
I didn't make any accusations. Just said that politics and angry parents don't belong in high school athletics. Do you think those 2 things are good for high school athletics?
02-25-2010, 05:18 PM
I ain't fussing about it but you said that angry parents and politics were calling the shots, didn't you? I think that's an accusation. Don't imply it if you don't mean it, that's what i'm saying.
02-25-2010, 05:37 PM
I actually meant it in the general sense. But if you want to get right down to it --yeah, I think that politics and angry parents had a lot to do with Coach Tiller's resignation. There really is no reason for parents to "have a meeting" or make complaints on a Coach the way that I know for a fact that a few parents in Estill County did. I hope the team does well next season but I think that some people may be wishing that they still had Coach Tiller to "kick around" and blame.
02-25-2010, 05:41 PM
from what i hear, if the old coach of estill county wasnt such an a-hole then families/parents wouldnt have to say anything

"politics" gets kicked around a lot. I don't think Coach Tiller lost his job so Kyle Christopher could have it. That's a load of crap.

Kyle Don't Won't The Job

First of all Coach T resigned. Secondly, I never said NOR implied that Coach was shafted so that Kyle could move in. I don't think that. I do think that his connections would get him the job if he wanted it. BUT that is just me griping about nepotism.

I really don't see that happening, the only way this would happen would be if he left on his own terms. He's liked by everyone in the Beattyville/Lee County and he has had alot of success there over the years and is also a liked teacher by the rest of the students at LCHS! Not to mention that his wife also works at the high school. And last time I checked he seemed pretty happy there too.

He resigned? What are we talking about then? Are you saying he resigned because of a group of parents or politics? I'm really just trying to get what you're saying.

From what you hear? Do you mean gossip? Or something you yourself witnessed? Do you know it to be true and not exaggerated?
Even if Coach T was an "a-hole" (thanks for sharing that by the way), his performance is between himself and his superiors at school. NOT every disgruntled parent that wants to complain to admin. about something the coach did or did not do/say.
A Successful team cannot be run by committee and a successful program does not concern itself with appeasing parents.
And that is all I have to say on the subject.
