All of Ashland's players got time in the game, it was all JV for Ashland for part of the 3rd and all of the 4th. Dylan Delaney got hot from 3 again,Spencer Lindsey did well also for the Royals.

When you trail at the end of three quarters by 62; lose the game by 53; and realize it could have been far worse, you have to be creative to spin the situation. So, just to add a little levity and humor, let's give it a try. I'll bet that even those guys who have a plastic tomcat affixed to their dashboards will enjoy (and maybe not jump to take offense) to this one.
Gregg (16), Whetsel (9), and Cullop (6) all played varsity basketball at Rose Hill before "migrating" to Ashland. If we reverse their contributions we can add 31 points to the Rose Hill total and remove 31 points from Ashland's total. Therefore, the final score was Rose Hill 75, Ashland 63. Nice win for an undermanned group.
Now, how is that for spinning? I'll admit it is an extreme effort which reminds one of the efforts presently used in Washington to try to make Obama look bipartisan. Still, we need to find humor wherever possible.
Congratulations to Ashland.

Addendum. Actually 75-66. I should have proofread before the 15 minutes were up. Still, a win is a win.

Bush was also a major contributor at Rose Hill on the varsity. Doesn't look like he's getting as much varsity time at Ashland. He is a great kid that plays hard every time he hits the floor.

How about not trying to spin things and just supporting the kids who are on the team now. They work very hard. They were undermanned and under experienced. But in spite of this they came into the game believing they had a chance, the same way they always believe. They worked hard till the end. I am proud of them and don't need to take anything away from Ashland to feel good about their effort.

That's just not true. I commend their effort. But that simply not remotely true.

Did you talk to the players?

You should practice what you preach, Mugshot. Your fourth sentence is the ultimate in spin.
My post was meant as a little comic relief. In a game such as the one last night, you should be hunting for a little such relief yourself.
No one is slighting Rose Hill. Those who supported them during the good years need to do so now. Still, reality is reality. The game played out just as everyone, including those at Rose Hill, knew it would play out. Monday will be no different. I understand that Biggs offered to cancel the two Rose Hill-Ashland games after Rose Hill was put on probation. Rose Hill obviously should have accepted the offer.
On the positive side, I was glad to see that the Lindsey boy had his second good game in a row.

Isn't it ironic that a Christian school gets caught cheating.

What is false about anything I said? Before the game the kids were speaking positively. I understand what you are saying about comic relief. I just don't think it should come at the expense of those who stayed and are trying their best.
I am sensitive when it comes to these kids. I would think you would be also.

I commended the kids on their effort. However, no one on the planet thought they'd win. Not even the kids. And that's okay. I applaud the kids for hanging in there.

Hold on, Mugshot. No one is seeking to say anything at the expense of the members of the Rose Hill team. I'm sure they are doing the best that they can and that is all anyone can expect. In truth, it is much harder to lace up those shoes when wins are unlikely than when a win is possible or probable. They are completing their task and are to be commended for their effort.
