Junior Skaggs has been showing alot of talent and putting up big numbers as he has since a freshman.
Is he the best player in the district?
To take it even farther is he one of the best players in the 15th? i think top 5

I think that he is the best junior in the district a long with Cody Parker...hes a player.
Also, i think def. top 5 in the region

He's probably a top 10 player in the region and also one of the better shooters in the region and may be the best in the 57th. I do think that BJ Moore at Sheldon Clark is the best player in the 57th right now and Skaggs is a close 2nd. His teammate Frasher is also up there.
01-27-2010, 07:55 PM
How is BJ Moore better than him?
01-27-2010, 08:01 PM
Skaggs is one of the best sharp shooters in the region and I will say best player in the district and top 5 in the region.
possibly the best knockdown 3 shooter in the region.......
BJ Moore is overrated. just because he dominates at the community center in inez doesnt make him a premiere player like skaggs

B.J. Moore is putting on one heck of a season at Sheldon Clark.

not like skaggs is.
skaggs is driving the bus, bj is chasing it down trying to get on.

"B.J. Moore is putting on one heck of a season at Sheldon Clark."
So your saying that Skaggs isnt putting up big numbers for LC. Also they are winning games. Skaggs is prob. averaging close to 20 points a game

BJ Moore is averaging 25 points a game and he's also shooting 82% from the free throw line. I'm not sure on his other stats, but he is a top 5 player in the region and the best player in the 57th district IMO.
Like I said, Skaggs isn't to far behind.
Just my opinion though.

you also have to look at the team, LC has a good starting 5 and a deep bench that can all score points....
SC doesnt have any scorers outside of moore, therefore they feed him the ball and he takes way more shots than skaggs. skaggs is surrounding by good players so he has the option to share the ball and someone else on the team put up points where as moore is SC's only option. if skaggs played for the weaker SC team he would average 30

SC's Lafferty is averaging 18 points per game, plus didn't SC beat Lawrence County this season already? I think yes.

I'm gonna have to go with BJ Moore as the top Junior in the 57th. Skaggs, then Parker aren't far behind though. I've seen Moore and Skaggs both play, I'll give the edge to Moore because I feel like he can create his own shot better than Skaggs can. Skaggs is more of a pure shooter, but CAN create his own shot. IMO Moore is just better at it. As for Parker, he's just more physically impressive than most in this area. The kid is around 6'7, and strong upper body. He's got a nice touch from the perimeter, but tends to get lazy at times and settle for unneccessary jumpers. No doubt that he's a top 4 57th District player though.

Ya Bryan Skaggs he played at LC in the 80's on one of the best teams in LC history.

My pick would be Josh Green....I have not seen a team this year or last that can stop him in the paint....Plus he shoots the 3 ball really well for a post player....

IMO, Skaggs, is one of the top shooters out of the 57th easily and the 15th region for that matter, but, as an "all-around" player he lacks the speed/quickness that others have to be considered the "best player" in the district.

If I looked at the paper right I believe moore is 3rd in the state in scoring, an 7th or 8th at foul shot shooting percentage. Moore is having one heck of a season. skaggs is also a great player, just ain't at the level moore is in my opinion.
01-28-2010, 05:49 AM
there is no way moore is 3rd in the state in scoring maybe region though...
skaggs is still better. ive played with moore and ive played with skaggs and i have watched them both play and i honestly believe skaggs is better...
Im not being 1 sided here. im straight up honest and give my opinion. if you think i just side with LC players on everything just go to the LC 2010 football post ive made. im straight up.
you will all see in the district tourny and region as skaggs further shows his dominance

Everyone on here has their own opinion on who they think is the best. We can all be right because an opinion is just that. Why get all crazy with stats and proof. All the kids that have been mentioned are pretty impressive. For my OPINION, I like Green from Paintsville. He seems to be leading that team in scoring. To all the young men that are listed or not, Good Luck on the rest of the season.
01-28-2010, 09:35 AM
Call me crazy, but I could have swore it was already said BJ Moore is a Sophomore... kinda hard to be the best JUNIOR in the 57th, when you are a Sophomore... :moon:
Skaggs, Parker, Lafferty, Green, etc... all Juniors.

No !!! skaggs is a very good spot shoother, probably would win lots of games of horse... as far as true basketball talent he isn't even the best on his team. He is kinda sluggish, maybe lazy looking IMO. Greene from P'ville is a better all around BBall player .

Wes Rowe for Pikeville is shooting about 63 % and is 7th in the state in that stat. He has led Pikeville all year to their best record in several years.

Don't be hating him just because he put 20 up both times on your Eagles and won the first game by a last second DEEEEEP 3. Also i think he hit some clutch freethrows against them at home to seal the deal.
