Former Lawrence County Coach Chuke Williams Passes Away
#1
Please keep his family in your prayers. RIP

[SIZE=2]The best offensive minded coach I have ever seen. His offense was his defense. He will always be remembered here in Lawrence Co. The school systems needs to do something in his memory like name something after him because he was the one that raised the bar for LC football. My god bless your family coach

My heart is saddened for the entire family of Chuke. He was a heck of a guy, and I'm glad that I got the chance to know him. I agree, Lawrence County does need to do something to honor his name because he did raise the bar for Bulldog football. He will be sorely missed, may you rest in peace Chuke.

Chuke will be dearly missed. He was a **** of a guy and **** of a coach. I also agree, something should defeinately be dedicated to him in his memory at LC. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

My prayers & thoughts are with the Williams family.
#13
I heard Nolan from Blaine talking about this on the radio

I played for Coach Williams when he was Offensive Coordinator at Betsy Layne in 1988. I loved his offensive. It's the mountain football should be played.

He ran the cash register at lunch in the lunchroom at school. Whenever we won the football players got free lunch for the week. Whenever we lost we heard about it when we were trying to pay for our lunch. He was a characher in his shorts and flipflops. RIP coach.
#15
The "Flip Flop" king will be missed greatly. RIP COACH

My thoughts and prayers

He was loved and hated by many but feared when ever his team stepped off the bus. As one coach stated on his face book in Lawrence Co its was
"At home we call it the belly read. On the road they say oh my God, oh my God." - Chuke Williams (R.I.P.)

Every time a TD is scored on "Belly" in places like Greenup and other schools that have coaches with ties to Chuke, I bet he will be grinning from heaven. Prayers for his wife, son and family.

He was a great man and a great coach. He was recognized and was paid tribute to along with his 1985 BLACKCAT team in 2008, In 2009 Lawrence County recognized all of his accomplishments and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Paintsville has done nothing to even acknowledge he was alive......now he isnt!!!!!!!!

I hope now Paintsville alumni will go pay their respects to him even though they gve him no respect while he ws with us. Had the pleasure to have many good conversations with him miss you coach hope they run the belly in heaven. But could you run it to the left every now and then!!!! LOL Heart and prayers to your family and all the lives you touched.

I would have thought he would have received more respect from the Tiger faithful. This part does surprise me.
