BMR, without a doubt.

I think Neil West is a great coach, he took the lady hornets and made something great and now hes starting to turn the guys around as well.

Coach Randy Anderson name has to be put in there, he has taken a Lawrence Co team that was in the business of losing and has turned that team around. Each year it has gotten better abd better.

Barry Hall of SF is a great coach...he took over a great program after coach webb left and continued the tradition of winning.....he has a great coaching staff to help him also he has Zenith Hall Joe Marson Keith Smallwood and newcomer Brandon Gearheart...

Barry Hall.... he has been there for one year and has a district championship and a ALL A championship under his belt and he has his raiders looking strong again this year

bmr from paintsville i probably the best

You guys are only kidding yourselves..Bill Mike Runyon is one of the best coaches in the entire state of Kentucky, so call me crazy but I think he's probably the best in the 15th...

bmr from paintsville

with all the coaching staff that bmr has, i am sure he doesnt make 100% of the decisions made during a game, i would have to say that alot of the credit bmr gets should go to his 7-8 coaches. his assistants do more instruction from the bench during a game than bmr does. i think bmr just shows up for the glory

U Know Not!!Barry Hall.... he has been there for one year and has a district championship and a ALL A championship under his belt and he has his raiders looking strong again this year
Good point...an All A elite 8 and a district title in your first year are pretty impressive if you ask me.

Coach Mark Starns From JC....He Has Turned That Program Around.

Bill Mike Runyon.. no doubt about it!

I would just about bet the farm that Barry Hall would not consider himself near the top when comparing coaches. Bill Mike has several regionals under his belt and mainly a State title. Last I checked those are pretty hard to come by. Johnny Martin is also one of the best coaches around and guarantee he will put the Rebels back to their winning ways. The list could go on however I do believe Hall has as good a staff than anyone.

The program didn't need to be turned around. They had a great coach that led them to a district championship last year. I don't see how a 1-1 record is turning a team around.

thekiller20 turned it around from what? Two straight district titles and a regional semi last season. Sorry mistake was getting rid of The other coach.
Johnny Martin is to me the best because he can not recruit, and has still won at every level. conference titles, district titles, regional title, all a. with kids that a lot of others would have said could not play.

Well said Booney you must look at what a coach has to work with. Not calling ac's players bad because they have had some very talented players in the past, but BMR gets the players he wants.

Bill Mike has def made a reputation for himself in this state let alone region. So put him aside. I think Hall (SF) has done a great job in his second regin. I always thought Rodney Rowe was a great coach and i thought he was doin a great job at SV.

Belfry Coach Randy Casey
He has taken a Pirate Basketball program that was ran into the ground by a former Coach, and he has made them into a Regional contender once again.
When Casey took over the Belfry program in early 2003 he inherited a dismal 6-18 team. In the past 2 years Randy has finished with a 11-17 record in 2004 and a 18-10 record in 2005 and also finished as 2005 15th Regional Runner-Up, 8 points short of a Regional Title.
This Belfry program is on the rise and I look for even better things in 2006 as the Pirates are now 1-0, and with it being a rebuilding year on Robinson Creek, look for the Belfry Pirates to contend for the Region once again...

BMR can win when he has the players! Just about any coach that know's anything could of won the state with those type of players. I played against BMR in the early 90's, which we beat p-ville those years. It all depends on the talent that he has. I don't know if their is a clear cut best coach. Johnny Martin has won with all type of different players and longest running in the 15. Their is several up and coming coaches, we'll just have to wait and see over time.

He didn't win last year. As for as having players you can say that about any coach. Bottom line all coaches need talent. Titles matter and BMR has them.

I agree 100% with u... BMR can recruit whoever he wants because p-ville is independent.... BMR has had some real good teams in the past but until he starts coaching his young team and stop letting landon slone do everything than my vote would have to be either coach martin or barry hall

Magoffin only won 2 or 3 games and Sheldon Clark only won 6 or 7. Sounds like he was a Bobby Knight to win that district. It took him overtime to beat a bunch of freshmen that went sub .500 on the year as well in the district finals.
Yeah he is a great one.
