Prestonsburg beat Bell in 2004 and then lost twice to Belfry the same year, so I'm not sure how you have Bell's 2004 squad in there over Prestonsburg and Belfry.

I agree and what about the 2007 Pirate team that was undefeated and lost in the state championship to central
#9
Breathitt's 2002 team could have beaten anyone in the state. 15-0 and a
52-0 win against Corbin in the 2A state championship.

Belfry's teams of 2003 and 2004 should be ranked higher than Johnson Central. I don't think '08 was Central's best team. The 2007 Belfry team should be on the list. Belfry was the winningest mountain team of of the decade wth 109 wins.

didnt know they played football there

Wow, that's a pretty bold statement. Have you forgot about two guys by the name of Michael Bush and Brian Brohm. No way Breathitt would have beat Male or Trinity. Not to mention the just barely squeeked by Russell in the State-Semi's, and Prestonsburg gave them all the wanted in the Region Finals. Breathitt was a dang good team in 2002, and would have beat most teams in KY, but not ALL of em.

IMO, Johnson Central's 2006 team has been their best. That team dominated 3A champ Louisville Central and led a very good Covington Catholic team at half time in the playoffs. Although they lost to Belfry in their final regular season game, CovCath was unable to stop their running game until FB/LB Blake Johnson was injured in the 3rd quarter.

I believe you got your years wrong. IMO, you are right about the 2006 JC team, but it was the 2007 team you are referring to beating Central and then losing to Belfry. Belfry and JC have only played the last three years, '07, '08, and '09, since the series has been renewed. The '06 JC team was a dandy. The 2006 JC team did play Cov Cath tough before it getting out of hand late.

You're right - I should have checked the scores. I still believe that the 2006 team was JC's best.

Not sure how anyone can have '04 Belfry on their list without '04 Prestonsburg, or '03 for that matter.

The 98 wins really makes Rock fans feel good, considering how terrible the last 3 seasons have been.

If you ask any Belfry coach, and most of their fans, they will tell you that Pburg was the second best team in 2A in 2004.

I listed them above. I would have liked to put them even higher but it is hard to putting them over State Champions and State Runner-Up's with a team who lost in the Regional Finals.

I whole-heartedly agree. I would go as far as to say that the 3 best "teams" were Belfry, Pburg, and Russell. I am waiting for a Bell fan to undermine that Belfry team's prowess because that team won the State Title in a 2A that was absolutely loaded that year. That Russell team was pretty darn good themselves with Josh Gross, Kasey Clark, and a pretty good passing attack.

Besides, the three teams mentioned above.. you also had arguably the best Owensboro Catholic team of the past 15 years, Elizabethtown with three future SEC starters, Ft. Campbell with Micah Johnson, and a very good Corbin team.

No need to argue it. Can't prove it either way.
Right or wrong how can you prove it?
Same as this year. Except for the first couple of weeks this year Bell was considered the best team in the mountains. Being a Bell fan I like that notion but how can it be proved? Same with your 04 analysis.
