Top linemen in Eastern Ky
#1
Any thoughts on this? We have always talked about great backs, and sometimes mentioned that they couldn't do it without a line, but who are some of the finer linemen on offense and defense?
#2
Are we talking about last year and time in the past or future linemen?
#3
For 2004

Prestonsburg- Zach Lafferty

Also the kid from Breathitt, Sloas might have been his name.
#4
For last season.... Pikeville's Josh Sullivan....All-State DL
#5
I'd throw all of P-burg's D-line in there.
#6
I was talking about the future lineman.
#7
What is considered Eastern ky.....
#8
Ahh how about.. the best linemen in the mountains, and that can count ashland and all the other teams that are undefined lol
#9
Prestonsburg returns 4 out of 5 linemen from a regional runner-up team. These linemen arent the biggest linemen ever, but they give it all they have and they are smart football players, they will be very good this year if they hit the weight room.

I am predicting good things for Southwestern(Pulaski) mainly due to the strenth of their O and D lines. They are big, fast and athletic with a lot of experience returning: Josh Minton, 6'4'', 240 lbs. A.P. all state. Cal Ratliff,6'3'', 230 lbs., A.P. all state, Matt McWhorter, 6'3'', 235 lbs. (98 yard fumble recovery TD), Logan Viers, 6'3'' return after year out due to injury, good to go now, all seniors to be. Along with Mack Carrender 6'1'',285 lbs. Cody Wilson, 5'11'', 225 lbs., Michael Lewis, 5'11'', 275 lbs., Josh Crockett, 5'11'', 215 lbs., Jacob Crockett, 6'0'', 215 lbs. all juniors with alot of varsity playing time. Plus others that could contribute. Heck of a nucleus to start with.

Tyler Cable--Shelby Valley will be up there this year hopefully, he has the feet and the strenght and he is only a sophomore!!!
#12
I have seen this kid play and he is grade A linemen....he deserves to be at a better program though. this kid should wander over to pikeville in my opinion and fil in some slots there.
#13
That would be nice...lol
#14
All I can go on is the past.

That would be:

Josh Sullivan and pretty much the entire 2003 line.

Shockey, Joyce, Justice, Johnson

Unmovable.
#15
i agree all of them good sized and a wonderful center in joyce, if only they could have had them this past year
#16
Shockey and joyce......they were alright.....Johnson and justice were the best....lol.... but all were good....wish pikeville could have had them last year
#17
You wanna give me a go on the board drill panthermania?
#18
Anytime baby.....You know i was just playin with you eagle....
#19
You know, I think that next year Brad "Furby" Bryant could be a stand-out lineman with a little weight-lifting and some help from Coach Mark "Donkey Kong" Wheeler and Steve "Wrong-Arm" Priode.

Ah, I'm too old for board drill.
#20

#21
Me too mania me too..........But elaborate on this "Furby" kid....what makes him so special
#22
I dunno....I thought you had the inside info. on this kid Live.......
#23
What will the linemen from Belfry be like this year?

Did they lose much to graduation?
#24
nope mania no scoop on this furby kid
#25
Hmmm....fooled me.
#26
Steven Harper and Adam J. Ratliff should be two very good linemen returning for SV...both are very good players, Harper is just now fully recovering from a knee injury at football camp next year but he will turn some heads next season, and Ratliff is just plain out tough.....i belive Harper is about 6'0" 275 and Ratliff is about 6'2" and weighs close to 295
#27
will lockhart from pikeville is a very good linemen and also john johnson could be one but hes playin the wrong position
IMO if he plays linemen he could go anywhere and play ball after high school
#28
Nahh....CCasey Rowe.....If he plays all four quarters......Brad Bryant has a shot in the runnings also....
#29
Casey definitely will knock heads in the trenches alonside brad bryant......they both could use some improvment in speed though
#30
Chad Blackburn Pike County Central "beast"
Logan Clark Pike County Central 6'2 335lbs.

These two guys are strong. Both can bench over 250. And squat over 400. They will be seniors in 05'.
