What are the thoughts and predictions for the Redhounds next season?

They return 5 starters and should be set in the backfield with Taylor, Foley & Mitchell, with Hoover and maybe Frederick at WR. The offensive line and TE position takes a hit with only a couple of returning starters. The defense returns 5 starters with the line again losing the most starters.
If they don't find some linemen and a consistent passing game, it could be a 4 or 5 loss regular season.

I look for the Hounds to be alright backfeild will be alright have 2 really strong o-lineman coming back in Nick Mills and Nick Howington. We do have alot of spots that need to be filled.WE really need a good QB one that can throw good enough so the coaches will pass some more to help open up the running game.

I heard Nick Mills would not be returning next year. Just doesn't like it.

Don't be countin' your chickens.

The Hounds should be perfectly fine IMO. They're one of a few teams in 2A that reload every season.

I can't wait to get back down there and see are rebels play corbin. Go Rebels!!
#8
Corbin has always had a good program and will continue to reload overall.

Wow this would be a big hit to their offensive line. I wonder what's going on with this Corbin program. If this is true there are several kids rumored to not be returning next year. And some of these would be starters and players who see decent playing time.

IMO our district is weak, that is why corbin looks good. We dont play any big schools anymore except for bowl games we host or go to. Coaches, they're are OK, Corbin football hasnt been great for more then 5 years....I have heard that we will move up in class in the next few years and it will not help. Also it doesnt say much for us when our HS program when our freshmen team gets beat in a scrimmage to our 8th grade team... I think corbin wont look good for at least 2-4 yrs from now. Schools in our region ei prestonsburg whipped our butts in the playoffs...yes we look good in the regular season but when it comes to the playoffs we act like we have never played before....I believe that falls on the coaches and from what i have heard and read football is not fun for the kids anymore when they are juniors and seniors...that falls on the coaches too. Also coaches dont like players to go to camps because they are taught different technics coaches dont like. In my opinion the present coaches wont be around much longer if we dont make it to bowling green very soon and I think people wont wait 4 year since its been 7 years since we were playing for the big prize.

I agree on some of your points. The only coach that needs replaced is Farris not much of offense cord.We are in a weak district but we don't put ourselves in a district.Coach Jewell is one of the top coaches in the state. For the young men that don't have fun are the ones that don't see much playing time you have to put your best players on the feild to win if you play kids just because they are juniors/seniors then you may have the wrong ones on the feild. Our playoff record is pretty impessive we will make Bowling Green in the near future.

I heard that Smith and Vorbeck was planning on playing next year. Does anyone know anything on that?

Vorbeck maybe, Smith no.
#14
Has anyone heard who all we play next year?

Good luck in 2010

Will Boyle be playing in the Cumberland Falls bowl in 2010?
#17
I believe Boyle plays Corbin in the Cumberland Falls Classic.
#18
I have been around a long time following Corbin football. It is a football tradition, meaning football has been there for a very long time. Players on the team have great, great grandfathers that played there. Corbin town does not put up with losing seasons and it would be a very difficult place to coach because of the high expectations from the public.

its gonna take hard work

That was the question I was going to ask. Thanks for answering.

Should be a great early season matchup for both schools as they replace key people and reload their programs.

I went to the awards banquet last Saturday. From what I saw we are going to be a very young team this year.

Many of these younger players saw some significant playing time this year and because of this we will have experience coming back. With hard work in the off season Corbin will reload and be a 2A contender once again.

with a larger enrollment than most 4a schools ( over 800), how long will Corbin be playing 2a.
#24
i dont think they will be as tough as last year.
#25
The Hounds hitting the weight room hard.We do have some talented players returning.
Foley
Taylor
Howington
Mitchell
Fredrick
Okuma
This group will be some of the best in the southeast next year with some good young players The Hounds will be all right next year.

Good luck to Watkins at EKU.

They don't.

BIGREDDAWG Wrote:They don't.

according to the 2010 enrollment
Middlesboro----------503
Leslie -------------546
Corbin---------------763
Whats wrong with this picture

According to the enrollment of 2010 Corbin and Bell will play in 3a district together only 4 schools numericaly between them according to enrollment.
Knot County----------692
Corbin----------------763
Garrard---------------763
Bell-------------------807
unless somebody plays up in a higher class this may be the new district

and by the way Lawrence County is 4a with 726 and Corbin is 2a with 763

Division determinations arer based on the number of boys enrolled in a particular school. Apparently, while close, Corbin qualified the last time for 2a and will be 2a until the next realignment. I am sure they do not care to move up they can handle it.

Corbin would have gone further in the playoffs last year if they would have been in 3A and may have won the title.
