Great News. He is a smart kid and from what I have witnessed has a great family around him. Im sure they talked this out and made what they felt was the right decision.
#5
Congrats Elisha!

his he going on a scholarship or walk on???
#6
Awesome news for Elisha! I hope he got a scholarship, but even if he walked on, that is still amazing. He is the quickest player I ever played against, and he deserves it. Congrats Elisha!
#7
I would hope and assume it is scholarship. If it was a walk-on duty I would have waited until the spring to see if any better offers came in. But whatever he chose to do is his decision and the right one, because he made it.

Good Job Elisha!!! , Make East Ky Proud

Congrats Elisha. Fine young man. Hope he enjoys a great senior season with SV.

I understand that Pitino called back to the school to ask which hand he was because he was so good handling the basketball. I also understand that Elisha may yet receive a scholarship offer.

Thats my boy ELI.........he's going to do big things for the CARDS....... Rick Pitino got a kid that knows how to win and will work.

Congrats Elisha

#13
And Justice for all !

Congrats Elisha.

I hope its an offer. I think it has to be, for him to commit this early.

IMO, it would suit him greatly to redshirt, get use to the college atmosphere and get well-versed in Pitino's system, that way he can get 12 or more mins a game his freshman yr. Instead of maybe 4 or 5, to give Siva a break, Either is great though. But, for HIS future and not L-ville's, I would say redshirt.

But, best of luck Elisha and you've got one person right here that's got your back.

Glad to hear this couldn't of happen to a better boy, maybe this might shut some of the doubters up like BUHOOPS and others .... sometimes people don't know as much as they think do they. Congrats EJ.
#16
This is a walk on offer but either way a great accomplishment for this young man. He has worked hard and definetly deserves everything he's worked for. Congrats Elisha.
#17
It is as a walk-on, but knowing him that will change while he's there.
#18
Congrats Elisha!!!! Hope everything goes well this year and beyond. Remember Travis Ford and how Pitino used him! And maybe you will be a good influence on Rick:Clap::

Congratulations to Elisha!

Walk-ons getting scholarships do happen now and then, but not very often.

Krebs at UK was a walk-on and finally got a scholarship this year as a senior, but I believe that is because Calipari ran everyone else off, including several scholarship players.

Mills and Moss started out as walk-ons and got scholarships their senior years. So it is possible.

The tough thing is as a walk-on you may not get the opportunity to prove youself in a real game situation, and if you do it's usually "mop up time".

It's stated that Pitino wants Elisha to back up Siva at the PG position, that means Siva won't be gone until Elisha is a Senior. Does anyone honestly believe that Pitino will not recruit another Top 10 high profile PG the next four years? No way, there's about a 100% chance that Elisha will constantly get recruited over.

I've seen Elisha's work ethic and competiitveness on the court, I hope he gets the opportunity to prove himself and earn that scholarship. Because if anyone can "earn-it" Elisha will. Hope this is the right decision for him.
He could definitely go to a smaller D-1 school and make an impact as a freshman and possible start the next 3 years. Fingers crossed that it works out for him. He is a great kid. Good luck Elisha!

I am happy for EJ. I just wish he would still be wearing a blue and white uniform with WILDCATS on the front.
#21
I am really happy for Elisha!! I think that this is probably the best situation for him. It would be nice to see him play for the wildcats but i think he will do well at Louisville and Rick Pitino will be a really good mentor for him. If he listens and follows what Coach Pitino tells him to do and really takes it to heart i think Elisha could have a shot at playing professionally after 4 years of college!

Wow! Going from a walk on to the NBA!
#23
What an honor. I'm very glad to hear this news. Congrats and best of luck Elisha!

When did the NBA become the only professional basketball organization? Ewan Linton from Pikeville College is now playing professionally in Mexico, there's more out there than just the NBA.

Congrats E!

I really like this i could see him playing in a few years if he progresses as i think he will.

I didn't say NBA, i said professionally!

Walk on or not, this young man deserves it imo...he is one heck of a ball player and a great person to be around in general...Even tho I dislike the Cards and would rather see him in Blue/White, I will still continue to watch him play. He can go far with Pitino on his side.

Congrats Elisha may God bless you!

Coach P likes kids with a great work ethic, willingness to win and defensive skills. If Justice can improve in those areas before he get to UofL, and while he is there, I look for him to earn that scholarship.

Preston Knowles of Clark Co proved many people wrong when they stated he couldn't play at UofL. In high school he had a great work ethic, great defender and such a willingness to win. Coach P loves that about Preston.

Best of luck to E. Justice, I feel he made a great decision.
