I am really glad too see East Ridge finially get some reconition. Those boys deserve it for what there trying too build there!

I have to disagree here. I understand that they're trying to build something, but from what I saw when they played Lawrence, half of the guys looked as if they had never touched a football before. I think they need another year at least before they should be considered anywhere near top 10 in 3A.
#4
Knox central should be a head of McCreary Central in 4a
#5
Lexington Christian must be #1 in the 1A right now for most people. They have been the most impressive team thus far in that class and are 2 points away from being undefeated (they lost to 4A Lexington Catholic by 1 point if I'm not mistaken). Mayfield would be a close 2nd though I must add...

Beechwood would be 3rd in my book and personally I feel they might be better than Mayfield. However, this is LCAs championship to lose this year.

I agree.

Surprised to see PCC at 8 and Letcher not in the top 10 in 5A

Go rebels!!:1:
#9
Magoffin gets beat by Powell and still #10. What the heck do people look at.

How in the world can Lex Catholic at 4-3 be ahead of Lawrence who is 7-0. strength of schedule or what, the past few years if lawrence was 4-3 with the schedule they had there would be no way they would be ahead of Lex catholic if they were 7-0.

Sorry, but there must be some mistake. East Ridge has done nothing this year to warrant any votes for the 3A top 10. They have a losing record (3-4) and their wins are over Phelps, South Floyd, and Hurley, Va.

If anything, those two votes should have gone to Pike Central after the scare they gave Belfry last Friday.

Folks, with only thirty odd teams in each division it doesn't much matter where any team is ranked after the top 3 or 4. The top 3 or 4 don't matter either in reality. It's a poll. People's opinions. Who cares? I'm glad Boyle County is ranked number 1 simply because it allows me some bragging rights around the office. It won't mean a thing though come playoff time.

The only sport where poles mean anything is D1 College Football and we all know what a mess that is.
#13
Mayfield over LCA? You have go to be kidding me. Mayfield hasn't played a Kentucky team who has won more than 4 games I don't believe. Beechwood should even be number 2.

Its hard for me to comment because i know little about Lawrence co. I did look at there schedule and there opponents schedule i did notice the win over Sheldon Clark it stuck out. Sad to say your in the same boat as West Jess. The press they want a signature win or a ball breaking schedule like Lex. Cath. plays. Just keep digging you guys will earn there respect. like i told Jason Frakes h.s. sports writer for the Courier Journal "get off your *** and go watch a game":devilflam Wow did that **** him off lol. but he needed to hear it.

I have seen both Mayfield and LCA this season. LCA has the advantage up front, both sides of the ball. Mayfield has a distinct advantage at the skill positions. I have no clue about Beechwood, other than rumor is that they are slightly down from years past, not that it means they are elite, just not as elite. I would rate LCA 1, and Mayfield 1a. Very close.
#18
^You think Mayfield has better skill players at the QB and runningback positions than LCA?And the battle up front will kill you more than the spots at the skill position in my opinion.

Remember is a race not a sprint. If we win out, and get a chance to win the district, that will change. They did hit us hard for loosing to a great team like Harlan Co. That is disrespectful to the Bears.

Harlan County was ranked somewhere around 30th in the state by Cantrall before the win over Letcher, so that had to hurt Letcher.
#21
But we beat Perry Central, and they are still ahead of us. I really think that these ratings are too early to tell. The real deal is the end of the season. That is what counts.

Glad to see Allen County in the top 5 in 4A. Their win against Franklin-Simpson speaks volumes in my opinion.
#23
I don't know about anyone else but I'm not sold after the Russell-Mason County game that Mason is Number 1.
#24
BIG congrats to Coach McCoy and the MC Hornets and JC for cracking the Top 10. JC's schedule and this weekends game showed that they are still a good 5A team. Coach McCoy and MC has showed that hard work and determination does pay off.
Good Job to both teams!

I understand what your all going for. you may be right, but then again you may not be. As for East Ridges record the teams they have lost to all of them have been ranked. Grundy, Lawrence Co, Allen Central and Sheldon Clark are the only games ER has lost. Also take into consideration ER has had +250 rushing yards aganist everyone except Lawrence County. I think ER deserves too be in the consideration for a spot, but it will be a few more years for they can claim their own ontop of the hill.

I'll tell you why. Because Lex Caths only loss's are to St. Xavier, Lone Oak, And Boyle Co. Both Lone Oak and Boyle are undefeated. And St. Xavier well if you know anything about kentucky football then I don't have to explain that. All the teams Lex Cath has lost to would easily beat Lawerence County.

And I am in no way dissing Lawerence County. They have made a miraculous turnaround. Just stating the facts to let you know why they are where they are:Thumbs:
