Scott County (1-0) outgained Clay County (1-1) by just 14 yards, 270-256, but forced three turnovers without giving the ball up once. The Cardinals also returned a blocked punt 85 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Marcus Hill ran for 117 yards on just five carries for Scott County. He scored on a 51-yard touchdown romp to give the Cardinals a 7-0 lead with 2:18 remaining in the first quarter.
Steven Travis added 54 yards on 10 attempts.
