Wow, that's pretty scarry to hand over a program to someone with NO coaching experience. A good, or even GREAT player, does not translate into good coach (Pete Rose, Isaih Thomas, Wilt Chamberlain)

One thing I know close to the situation is that Addington did not take the job last year due to her responsibility for her own classes at MSU. I was also told that the Track coach will not be back, nor the football coach, or baseball coach. I was told that the track coach maybe the new football and baseball coach as soon as it is cleared by the state and KHSAA. If this is true, he gives up some things, this will be one of the greatest hires Jenkins has ever made. You have to understand this person, he has a great baseball mind, not to mention one heck of a defensive minded talents in the game. Oh, I am sure he will teach them the rules.......

No he has already informed his students that he will not be back next year.

I guess Tolliver shouldn't of left Rowan County! Congrats to Eddington, hope she learns the ropes fast. All coaches need some place to start, why not start at Jenkins. Good a place as any.

Lets see how politics ruin a program,,,,
You are a losing program (jenkins) you get lucky and get a coach in Chris Tolliver who decides to take over a horribly ran program, only with the thoughts of building it back to what it should be. A coach who left a 16th region championship team in mid season to move back to his roots to help build a program in his own county where he lived his whole life. Note the fact he WAS getting paid in a school district that was one of the highest in the state.
To take a job with a team he knew was in terrible shape, horribly ran, and completly depleated compared to the team he currently coached. Not to mention a team that was abandonded in mid season by a coach Jerry Bentley. Who took the luxery of scheduling games knowing he was leaving in mid season. Translation that means he scheduled games he knew they could not win which in turn meant the new coach hired would not win games either. Trying only to make himself not look so horrible as a coach.
Now you have a coach in Chris Tolliver who takes the team he is given fights through all the problems, people attached to the program that he had to keep, also not having practice time, no money to fund a program, and only a few parents that support him. He takes this team and does his best to get the team prepared for a new year his first upcoming full year.
WHAT DO YOU DO (JENKINS)
"TERMINATE" HIM WHY Because he actually tried to coach a team with the best players on the floor and THAT caused him to ruffle a few feathers on the school board/site based council who had children on the team who were not better than some kids who were playing CONGRATULATIONS JENKINS
Lets see what you have lost here are Coach Tollivers Credentials only because you are not smart enough to realize what you have:
His credentials listed below might be new to you all,,,,i am sure you have not known them before now:
-1 regional championship as player 1 time in 53 years a team made it to state tourney from our county in basketball
-former college basketball/ baseball player
-2 consecutive district titles (head ast coach)
-2 consecutive regional titles (head ast coach)
-2 consecutive 20 + win seasons (head ast coach)
-only 11 losses in 2 seasons (head ast coach) all of which to top 25 teams in state

-2 consecutive region sweeps undefeated season in the 16th region (head ast coach)

Wasn't a horribly ran program. They weren't abandoned. He schelduled games BEFORE season starts. Not having practice time? What they practiced longer than anyone else. There practices actually ran into boys practice. They kids that complained actually are in my opinion the two best on the team.

Can't you tell what is going on here? They are trying to do everything they can do to make people so upset that they give up on Jenkins and let it be shut down. The admin over at Letcher is doing everything they can to get this place closed and it looks as if they are doing a heck of a job. :flush:

Your opinion SHERMAN is not really that important,,,,second your opinion of talent is about as important as lets say.....well..... i cant really think of anything to say because nothing on earth is less important,,,,,,,hence the fact you are the MANAGER of a Horribly ran high school basketball program,,,,the only reason they let people like you hang around a team like that is because you are the guy no one really cares about therefore you get on here and make little articles up about people u have no clue about,,,,,,,,only because they dont want to listen nor care about your opinion on anything that has to do with basketball or anything else for that matter so because they dont you along with your fellow fools on the school board who note the fact know nothing about the game themsleves and try to find a way to let POLITICS... simply run their course an let go a great young coach,,,,,,,,,keep talkin,,,,,you are doing a GREAT JOB at ruining what use to be a nice program,,,,,,,,, ACCORDING TO YOU ALL WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT BILLY G TO HUH,,,,,,,,or better yet lets just hire some guy who knows nothing about basketball and make him the coach at UK just cause he has a position on the board of directors,,,,,lol

Then you need to step outside the box an look at the real world ,,,,,,,,this is not pee wee basketball where everyone plays for fun,,,,,,, winning 3 or 4 games in an entire 20 plus game season is horrible,,,,,,,,and doing that 3 or 4 years in a row is HORRIBLE,,,,,not winning any tournaments is HORRIBLE,,,,
In case for future referances you wanna know why teams around here call Jenkins all the time to try an get a game with you all,,,it is not cause they respect you all,,,,,,,,,,,they do it because they know it is a WIN without really putting forth any effort,,,,kinda like when you all play on the road you all are everyones senior night game,,,lol,,,,,,WAKE UP they are not playing you all on those nights cause they respect you and know you will draw in fans,,,,,,,they do it cause they know the kids who dont get to play ever.......you know the ones who are young and inexperienced,,,,,and not as good as the other starters,,,,,,,,, that night they will get alot of playing time cause they will be up by 40 points,,,,in case you dont know SHERM,,,,,, which i know you dont,,,,,,,, that is the time when you get unexperienced players playing time to help build a program kinda what LETCHER CENTRAL or ne other team did to you all in years past,,,,the starters dont play in blowouts in case you didnt know that,,,,,,,,,,WAKE UP<<<<<take off you green goggles SHERM <<<<<<< It is not the 90's nemore,,,,,,,
