201 Speedway opens this Saturday

201 Speedway in Paintsville opens this weekend.

Late Models/Open-wheel Modified/Bombers/4-Cylinders are all expected to compete.

I haven't been to a dirt track racing since Thunder Ridge was open, so I will more than likely be going. Anyone else?

I read on East Kentucky Racing that Paul will be racing this weekend.

I think it will draw a good crowd. Thunder Ridge did and this being a new thing and TR not being open should really help it out.

I will be there regaurdless if I am racin or not. I'm actually headin to the shop right now to try and finish the car up, try to have it ready to go. If I get it done, I'll race, if not, i'll be on the hill drinkin cold beer, lol. Be sure to cheer me on when they call out the "Rattlesnake".

Yeah, the track owner (Chuckie May) called Stanley Haddix Race Cars and Parts today while I was up there and said the track was too wet and wouldn't have time to dry up before tomorrow night so he had to cancel.

201 will be runnin 3 weeks a month this year. They will be OFF the last week of every month.

Well. This is terrible. But I understand he's wanting the track to be perfect for the first race of the season.

Who used to run the red chevy. they lived on rt40. The car would fly but the driver never opened it up

You'll have to be a lil more specific, lol. What number was it? What kind of car (monte carlo, camaro, ?)

It was a 57 chevy. Dont remember the number tho. Ran it in the late 1980's. It was always parked on the left hand side of the road up on the hill on your way to martin co.

Can't wait until the cars get fired up. I have never been to 201 but I do plan on attending this year. We camped beside the owner and all of his crew at Eldora last year and they were very nice people.
