Why?

Jay Wright would be my 2nd option. I want Donovan and if wont come and Im down for it Jay Wright!
03-27-2009, 07:24 PM
Jay Wright will not leave Nova
03-27-2009, 07:27 PM
Why not navajo4life? The man knows what he is doing and it seems to me he could handle the media spotlight that comes with being UK coach. But I dont think he will leave Villanova so everyone can scratch that idea anyway.

Turned UK down two years ago and he's in an even better position now than he was then.
I nominate NEXT as the next UK coach.

Jay Wright said he was extremely happy at Nova in his presser earlier.

The HC job at Villanova will never be a better position than the HC at Kentucky. And certainly no one on a chat board knows how hard UK tried to get him last time. Officially offer him and see...

Jay Wright has the best recruiting class that he has ever had at Nova and there is less pressure on him up there, he's not leaving NOVA

I'm sure he is.

That's as good a guess as any...

Jay Wright will not leave Nova, just like Calipari wont leave memphis, Pitino wont leave L'Ville, Self wont leave kansas, Izzo wpmt leave State, Donovan wont leave Florida. i would like to see Mark Few but i seriously doubt him leave Zaga
03-27-2009, 08:33 PM
UK has a problem not selecting their people thoroughly!

So when I was joking about Eddie Sutton, it may be down to only him as an option???

No i just dont see none of them leaving there schools and like i said earlier if UK hires Travis Ford i hope they lose every game year in and year out by double digits and ill turn into a Louisville Fan

I don't think you really want that to happen, but I certainly do understand where you are coming from. If all is true about the other big names declining at this time, we'll just have to see what BIG money offers come there way. If the Money does not get one of them here, you will be relegated to another coach will have no more of a resume than BCG.
The problem here was, BCG was not liked. Many of the fan just hated him because he was not UK material. Had he won 30 games, and got to the 2nd weekend of the tournament, this would have never been a discussion. The same folks who hate him would never have said a word.
I lived it during the Bob Huggins days at UC. He was hated and reviled by the UC fans because of his arrogance and offcourt cnatics. But, he won. That was good enough to offset his indescretions and arrogance. UC was a national power. Now look at them.

i agree but like i said i just dont see any of those coaches leaving there school, but who knows. all we can do is wait and see and im too anxious to see who it is and i wish that they would hurry up and get one already, and donovan may suprise us and come but i doubt that will happen but like i said who knows

i think Mitch needs to be replaced...the blame needs to go a little higher!

He's a Philadelphia native, his wife was a cheerleader there, he's already making lots of money, he has a Final Four-caliber program for at least the next two years and he's made the Sweet 16 four times in five years. He can be at Villanova for 25 years if he wants so long as there are regular Big East titles and Sweet 16 spots. Why leave?
03-27-2009, 09:20 PM
what we need is some serious people...not to expect miracles and anyone they hire in a 2 year stint.....Nobody can perform that fast with the way recruiting has been going lately! I don't expect anyone to walk in my office and take over anything that fast....No one can perform all our hopes and dreams in 2 years time...Heck they gave Tubby more time than that!

Just sayin if you aren't for UK all the way, you dont really Bleed Blue, and it's not like we have the need for someone like that.
I can seriously say I will never cheer for a team other than UK, no matter how bad it is.

No Big East titles this year and he has a very good team. Regular Big East titles is a lot to ask and it's doubtful he will get them....

I don't see him leaving Nova at all.

Only perceived that way inside Kentucky and inside Vitale's addled brainpan. Nowhere else.

Jay has to many ties to Nova and he is a product of Rollie. He will stay. But I do think when/if offered Calipari will take the UK job.

I have been told Lee Todd dislikes Calipari because of his recruiting habits, which I can understand.
Let me throw another name out there for you to consider: Darrin Horn (Tates Creek alum, Western Kentucky alum, former WKU coach (111-48), current South Carolina coach). Understand that I have no inside information that leads me to do that ... but you can see why he would make sense, right?
