For the upcoming (hopefully) holiday party, where would you prefer to meet at or have the party at?
Pizza place such as Gattitown/Pizza Hut
Holiday inn-in a private event room or similar place
Feel free to suggest a place in pville or pburg
Keep in mind that you will be helping to pay for this party. It will be the invitation charge to cover the cost of the party. There is no way we could pay for a party like this on our own...I wish we could but its just not possible right now...maybe in the future...There will be a charge per person and if you bring along a date you will have to pay for them to.
Please only respond to this poll if you are serious about attending the party.

If there is a way to inquire a price of the places you are thinking bout, then get a definate head count and then go from there as to what people could afford would be a way to probably narrow it down.. just an idea
10-27-2005, 08:31 PM
I will be calling some places tomorow to get a general idea. I know already that any pizza place will be cheaper than a private holiday inn event room and I dont know of any other places in that area but maybe someone else will and will post about it on here. I'm ok with what everyone chooses.

I think Holiday Inn is pretty expensive.. one of the pizza places would be better if there's not a lot of people planning on going

I personally dont care where we meet.....Heck the bowling alley would be a good place BUT idk how much they charge and IDK if i could get a discount.....

the bowling alley is an ok idea too if its just going to be a small group. What bolwing alley did you have in mind for a small group? I just checked on prices for Mr. Gatti/Gattitown/land..whatever it is called. You can get a free private meeting room with the purchase of a buffet with 20+ people but on the website it says you can only have the free room on weeknights and we are not doing this on a weeknight. I will now check on pizza hut. Any other ideas? I dont want to wait too late since November will be upon us very soon..

I guess Pburgs bowling alley, cause I dont think pikeville does parties
10-27-2005, 09:21 PM
it doesnt matter to me either, but the pizza place idea would probably be the easiest one to pull off.

well idk MRI one of our members owns the bowling alley lol and hes my best friend

Classic Lanes in Pikeville, VERY close to P-burg does do parties. They have an arcade, pool tables, lanes, and etc.

I can probably only afford around 25 bucks, anything under that and I'm fine. I voted for pizza though, seems more ideal. Bowling alley would have been my second vote, but it's not up there
EDIT Me and tribe posted same time
On second thought, what tribe said sounds really good.

Pizza place was also my first idea then I consulted with..um...QQ..and he was the one that suggested holiday inn. I also think it is way too expensive and I honestly dont want anyone to have to pay over $10 per person. I also like the bowling alley idea since this is a "sports" group. fb05..can you get me some info on that and some prices? Is food available there?
10-27-2005, 09:35 PM
So where is the party going to be?
10-27-2005, 09:42 PM
Gattis, because of the BBQ pizza.
10-27-2005, 09:55 PM
The party will be whatever the majority votes on so I encourage everyone to please vote in the poll and put other in the poll and what other place you want if you dont want a poll choice.
a pizza place like gattis should be under $10 per person. We are checking on the bowling alley prices.

Well I got the bowling alley prices and they are for 2 lanes for 3 hours 75 bucks or 2 lanes 2 hours 50 bucks.....And they are usually 80 bucks for 2 hours 2 lanes but he cut me a deal since I know him real good
this is not counting food BUT if we have 10 people which I KNOW we will thats like 7.50 per person and we can get 5 dollar pizzas from LITTLE CEASARS all day long....I think this sounds like a plan.....I need to know so I can let the bowling alley know to set the date so we can be there

Bowling Alley is fine by me...I won't be bowling because of my leg but I'll have a good time watching everyone else...
10-28-2005, 12:19 AM
We had my little sister's birthday party at Gatti's last year and it was around 300 bucks...but it depends on what kind of package you get and the number of people attending.
10-28-2005, 03:00 AM
bowling alley is fine with me also

Amen to that brother....
10-28-2005, 08:26 PM
ok so its either pizza in pville or bowling in pburg. I think they will both be around the same price..less than $15 per person+ $15 if you bring a date. Please revote out of these two so we can decided for sure and I can make arrangements on Monday for those who are interested.
10-29-2005, 12:50 AM
Me and Balla discussed this and we are all for bowling in pburg...but it's whatever everyone else wants...
10-29-2005, 10:51 AM
Just my thoughts, but a bowling alley , especially on a weekend night, is usually pretty crowded.. It would be hard for someone to rent out a bowling alley , especially on a weekend night where the teenagers hang out..
10-29-2005, 11:50 AM
I agree Red Devilette. I dont think we would get to rent the entire place..just 2 lanes. I guess it depends on how many of us will really attend to know if that is enough. I also checked on Gattitown in pikeville and they give a free meeting room on weeknights for up to 200 people with purchase of their food which is less than $8 I think. I think this is better and also has stuff to do at your own cost but I will need to see if we can reserve a room on a weekend.
10-29-2005, 12:48 PM
either place is fine with me
10-29-2005, 04:08 PM
You can get a room in Gatti Land at Pikeville on a weekend, not sure of the cost but more people and LOTS more little kids are running around. They usually have birthday parties going on all day there but I am fine with either place, at any price. Just let us know something BGG, everyone is pretty much willing to go anywhere, not really picky.
10-30-2005, 01:04 AM
True we don't seem to be picky at all about a place. Either place is perfectly okay by me aslong as it's handicap accesible which I'm 90% sure both places are...I know Gatti's is and I'd say the bowling alley is too so. Just let us know what everyone else agree's to and hopefully it's on a weekend that I'm in prestonsburg if not then I won't be able to go.
10-30-2005, 01:25 AM
Seems like Classic Lanes has a handicap ramp on the left of the enterance and the rest should be okay as well.
10-30-2005, 01:28 AM
Classic Lanes if I'm not mistaking also has it where you can drive up to the door...I could go up that...I can go up stairs if I have to...
