South Laurel Job open???

With this job coming open who is the frontrunner? I think Tommy Greer would be the 1st choice. I have heard he is very interested in the job and would bring SL to be a power.

What does everyone think?

Has anyone talked to Coach or the principal to confirm this? And how would anyone know the front runner when they haven't even posted this job. To throw a name out as the guy to get is putting the cart before the horse. You must be from Bell and want to him to take the job? Why should we want him?

That would be about par for the course for him. Looks like he usually stays at a place for a couple years and then moves on. Hard to bring stability to a program doing that!

I could careless who you get as a coach. But looking from the outside in. I would be very pleased if I were you to get someone from a program like Bell County. I mean, I have seen some of the athletes that SL has and I would say they have to be huge under achiever compared to there potential at this point.

I watched South Laurel play Perry Central this past season I would like to know where all those so called Athletes are at South Laurel. You guys must be talking about the basketball players that dont play football obviously. South Laurel is just like Perry Central where Chappell came from. South is a BASKETBALL school plain and simple. Just look at Souths sorry weightroom and old ugly football field, kind of resembles Perry Centrals. I dont care if you bring in Urban Meyer to South Laurel, you still arent going to win. Chappell was a fine coach but he ran into the same problems at South that he did at Perry. Good luck Chappell wherever you end up.

SL is better off with Chappel leaving. He has done nothing to help that program. I doubt Greer would leave for SL. He has a job at Bell were he has it made with his work load as an asst. principal.

SL would be very lucky to get any of the coaches we have here at Bell Co. b/c they have always lacked the defensive minded teams you need to win. Also any of those Coaches that have worked for Hilton know what it means to work hard!!!

Some coaches are not willing to do ANYTHING to win like you guys at Bell. Do you guys still have BALCO LABS working for you? Everyone knows why you guys are so good. Personally I think you guys should just step up and play Louisville Trinity, Cincinnati Colerain, and maybe Odessa Permian next season since you guys are so rich in tradition. Maybe play in the Herbstriet Challenge next year.

Man I can promise you Balco is no were near Bell Co. just hard work. Don't be a hater as you appear to be. You must play or support one of the teams we smacked around for the past 25 years. :redboxer:

They recruit well from Middlesboro, Tennessee, and Virginia. All them boys arent exactly homegrown. Yeah they may of worked hard but I'd say BALCO LABS helped them out a whole lot. Wonder what they use, the cream or the clear? Hahahahaha

2 kids for Tn. on the team both are freshman and played no Varsity. ZERO from Va. and ZERO from Middlesboro. All of the kids on the Varsity played middle school and on in football in the Bell system.

Get over it. Maybe instead of being on here you should have you weak a## in the weight room. :flame:

I don't think he admitted recruiting. Bell can not stop those who wish to come to school there. There is a big difference in recruiting and playing with who shows up.

Who admited to recruiting? You need to go back and work on those reading skills. Validate maybe too big a word for you.

The 2 players from Tn. pay tuition just like all the other STUDENTS from out of state. Just happens to be that those 2 players have Bell ties from long ago. 1 of them has a father that played on the 91 state champs and the others uncle was also on the 91 team. Would you expect those kids to go anywere else in this area? I think not. Take your jealousy and outrageous posts somewhere else b/c that will not cut it. :zzz:

I would love to see Coach Roark leave or get fired. He is a disgrace to Middlesboro football anymore. He has had too much talent over the years to not even win District in 2A. Put Dudley Hilton at the BORO he would have had 3more State Titles since the 98 State Championship team. Roark is a waste and should get fired!:ChairHit:

On the note of bell county recruiting. Like someone said before both of the young men have family that played on the 1991 state championship team and were formerly from bell county. And they also were not happy with their situations at the tenn. school they attended.
