Your thoughts on finals being in Bowling Green
#1
Let's hear them.

Shouldn't be much of a difference than it being in Louisville IMO. Some fans in EKY may have to travel 30 minutes to an hour more, but I'm sure they will not mind especially if its their team in the finals. Plus, the atmosphere will be 10x better at WKU's stadium rather than Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, which was just to big for high school football.

Too far away for me, but i can deal with it. I would much rather see the finals at commonwealth though.

I agree!

:insane: It is an improvement for sure. I could attend a game and get in some fishing on the sweet lakes in that area. Football and Bass Fishing together!!!!!!!! Stoked.

Take it to Lexington and ill be satisfied
#7
Lexington would be a great venue, but I won't mind to travel a little farther for the finals. As one has already stated, the atmosphere will be better due to the smaller stadium and they have just renovated the stadium completely. Good choice.

WKU has some very nice facilities now. They've also built a parking garage next to the stadium, which will help. Parking was a huge problem when I've been down there for games. I'm excited to see how WKU and Bowling Green will handle the State Finals.

Bowling Green is smaller and is easier to get around in......Just take the exit @ the Corvette Museum and follow that road to the school.......I watched the finals on TV FSN here in Campbellsville and it looked like there were not more than 500 people there, not the thousands that had been posted......There may have been thousands if you count all the games on both days......WKU's stadium is smaller and will make for a better atmosphere with the smaller HS crowds.....If you have trouble parking, I have family that lives a street over from the stadium....lol

It Well Be Ok

I love it.It's a longer trip but I HATE LOUISVILLE.
#12
Ask me this time next year. Wink
#13
I would rather travel to Commonwealth, but that isn't a choice. I think it needs to be moved for a little while. Louisville is a booger to get around town. I just hope that Bowling Green can handle all of the people.
#14
Way don't they move it to EKU, it is in the middle of the state.

My daughter will be a freshman at WKU next fall so it works great for me.

I'd love to see it at Commonwealth too. I heard that it wouldn't happen though because of the grass field (Kentucky being afraid that it would be torn up through the course of 6 games). By the way is WKU's field grass or A.T.?

Thats true the steelers do that, and thier field gots absouluttly torn all to pieces!

First it was the girls basketball Sweet 16 and now the fooball championships, the decision sucks but its all about money for the KHSAA. I know that it could not be held at Commonwealth because of the grass field but why not hold it in Richmond which would be just perfect. Heck if it because of the field move them to Morehead where they have the artifical turf and its certainly big enough to hold the crowds.:howdy:

Im kinda glade to see them get moved. Its about the same distance for me to get there. WKU has a pretty nice stadium and its alot better for the smaller schools to play in.
#20
Uh let's see, its still gonna be cold, an extra hour or two drive.. Here are my thoughts> Poopy on that

It is turf that is why they put a bid in to host this.

I wont be making the drive out there unless Hazard make it back down there. When it was at Louisville i can stay with my cousin up there.
